Write Mentor

With details of writing weekends and more:


A week early this month as I'm off on holiday in a couple of days...

June's #WriteMentor Update



1. We announced our judge for the 2020 #WriteMentor Children's Novel Award.

Alice Williams will judge our shortlisted novels and choose our winner. We will be publishing an interview with Alice soon on our website, and will be sure to post it in next months newsletter.

And in other #WriteMentor Children's Novel Award news, 2019 runner-up, Kathryn Lougheed, has signed by Chloe Seager for her YA Gothic novel, Whisper Pier.

 


2. More 2018 #WriteMentor programme success this month, with past mentees Nicole Brake and Clare Golding discussing their experiences in fascinating interviews.

This year's mentees are working hard with their mentors and are focussing very hard on their rewrites ahead of our agent showcase at the end of August. May the Force be with all of you!


We announced the #WriteMentor Writing Weekends last month, but just to say these will start to go on sale over the next few weeks. Glasgow is already up, as you can see above, and tickets can be bought here.

3. We are still selling tickets for WOW-CON! £10 each. We also announced that everyone with a ticket will be eligible to enter our WOW-PITCH on the Saturday. Full details.


4. Applications are open until 22nd July, for both of our 15 week courses, led by Maz Evans and Lauren James.

Both courses have 3 agents who will read all the participants manuscripts at the end of the course.
