Things to do this weekend in New York, London and Leeds

Not got any firm plans for this weekend? Here are a few ideas for those of my followers who live in or near to New York:

Hello New York,

Welcome to the Stoop, pregame edition. We're gearing up for our yacht party tomorrow afternoon, and getting ready for an amazing night out. Soundtrack provided by tomorrow's DJ, Skype Williams.
🍻💃 🛥🍷
Still figuring out what to do this weekend? Check our guide for ways to stay cool. Maybe, you're in the mood for a steak dinner at Club A Steakhouse, 🥩😋 or perhaps the chance to escape a puzzle at Ripley's Believe it or Not. 🤩🌈🎟
Either way, make sure to swing by Glaser’s Bakeshop before Sunday, the Black and White Cookie mecca is shutting its doors after over one hundred years of business.  🍪😭💔

Plus: Movies to catch this summer

Listen Up: Don't Matter To Me - Drake
Knock Down: Six!
Outside Bites
A much more popular and respected form of fast food, food trucks have risen to fame as National Food Truck Day!

Enjoy over 200 food trucks in one location.

That means tacos AND fries, ice cream AND funnel cake.
Let's Get Nauty
Five queens will battle for the 2018 Nauty Queens Crown June 30th aboard luxury yacht The Jewel.
See the show and city views, while enjoying bottomless vino by Tom of Finland Wines and Tropical Moscato for only $25
Plus dance to tunes by Skype Williams, and a performance by no other than sea queen Bella Noche herself.
Tickets are running out fast, end June with a splash. 💦
A Cut Above the Rest
Sponsored by:

New York City has long since been known for its old-school steakhouses. However, when it comes to finding the best spot to give yourself a serious case of the meat sweats, some restaurants tend to be a cut above the rest.
A prime example is Club A Steakhouse, located at 240 East 58th Street in Manhattan.
Book your next date night, family get-together, or business dinner here for a night you won't forget with the restaurateur himself, Bruno Selimaj.
Escape It, Or Not
Escape rooms are a great time, but what makes each one stand out?

You and nine of your closest friends (or maybe a few friends, and a few strangers) will have 15 minutes to follow the clues and solve the puzzle.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not in New York City is open 365 days a year, 9 AM - 1 AM.
Relax with A Movie This Summer
Whether you enjoy sci-fi, drama, horror, or even a documentary, your new favorite movie is coming to theatres this summer.

Don’t miss your chance to stare a giant screen with Dwayne Johnson (and his muscles) in Skyscraper?

Or Elastigirl and Jack-Jack along with the rest of the Incredibles family, are up to now?

But let’s get real for a moment. I have two words for you.
Mamma Mia! Here we go again!

Premiering in about a month, we will see the character, Sophie once more, and what will she get into now?

Find out and take a trip to a theater near you!
End of an Era
Have a deep love for black and white cookies?
Make sure to stop by the Glaser’s Bakeshop before this Sunday. After over one hundred years of business will be closing its doors.

Hello New York,
If you’re looking to let loose with your canine this weekend, check out these pet-friendly bars and restaurants that encourage you to let your furry friend off their leash. 🐶🍗🐩 Feeling really adventurous? Trade in the concrete jungle for the actual jungle, and plan your next trip to an exotic destination. We’ve found the picture-perfect destinations that will have you booking a ticket faster than you can say ‘Bon Voyage.’ 🗻🏖
Or how about a staycation? These NYC pools are the perfect weekend retreat. Get ready to soak up some sun and keep cool as the temperatures rise. 💦⛱
Hope you have your best red, white and blue ready for Independence day. Fourth of July is fast approaching which means it’s time to fire up the grill and get ready to watch some impressive fireworks. Here are some of the best places for your viewing pleasure. Trust us, it’s gonna be lit. 🎇🇺🇸🌭
We bet you’ve never seen anything like Tom of Finland’s art. The late artist was known for his homoerotic portraits and celebrating LGBTQ perspectives. His artwork is most recently being featured on the bottles of a namesake wine brand. Cheers to that! 🍷👨🎨🎨
Coming out isn’t easy, and it’s normal to feel trapped. Here’s how one writer learned to feel more comfortable in his skin. 👨️‍👨🏳️‍🌈👩️‍👩
June 27th is national PTSD Awareness Day. If you or someone you know is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, please don’t hesitate to reach out for help. 😬🤝💙
Enjoy your night, and embrace those you love; a privilege no longer available to hundreds of children detained at the countries southern border. For those who would like to support here's a list of eateries providing assistance over the next few weeks. 🗽💗🍽

Gone to the Dogs
Now that the dog days of summer have started bring your canine with you as you roam the city.

These bars and restaurants are a must-hit if you can’t live without your furry companion. From the Barking Dog on 3rd Ave, to Five Leaves in Greenpoint, dine and drink with man’s best friend throughout the long summer days.

Though it’s encouraged to call ahead in case of health department visits, these spots love pups as much as you do and some even have water bowls and treats on-hand. Skeptical? Don’t worry — with places like BK’s Buttermilk Channel that serve up savory fried chicken on the reg, you’ll have more to munch on than just kibble.
Trip of a Lifetime

Itching to leave the city this summer but can barely afford a $1 slice?

Pool Party
Trying to beat the heat this summer but not into the beach life? Make a splash by hitting one of NYC’s public pools. These spots are open for business starting in June and you’ll definitely want to check them out on the weekends. Perfect for families, friends, or if you just want to work on your tan, these pools will have you feeling the three R’s — relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated for the work week ahead.

While some of these pools are free to the public, others may require an entrance fee or a day pass.

Whether you’re there for a swim or just want to kick back, these spots that will have you chillin’ on those sweltering 90° days for sure.
Tom of Finland's Artistic Vision
Tom of Finland, sought to educate and inspire with his artwork.

Though unlike other artists, his work includes homoerotic portraits of men, popularized in the 50’s and into the early 90’s. Today, he is celebrated through Tom of Finland Wines, which are showcasing his art through their array of artisan wines (plus, donating part of the profits to the Foundation promoting human rights and sexual expression through art).
Coming Out
What happens when you hide your true self for 24 years?

Read about how this writer found the strength to acknowledge his sexuality and what happened when he finally opened up to the world.
PTSD Awareness Day
June 27th is PTSD Awareness Day, but what exactly is PTSD and how does it affect those who are suffering from the disorder?

PTSD, known as post-traumatic stress disorder, affects the mind in different ways, and while it can be difficult to pinpoint in each person, one way we can all treat its effects is through tolerance and understanding.

Light It Up
Celebrate Independence day right and spark new traditions!

These are some of the go-to locations if you’re looking to bask in those festive, Fourth of July fireworks. While some spots on this list, like Houston and the FDR drive area, are free, others, like the Brooklyn Barge Bar, will have you shelling out some cash for tickets.

This list includes lots of rooftop bars, which means great views and the good news is some tickets include food and drinks in the price!

If you’re hoping to hit up one of the free, public spaces, just be sure to go early if you want to snag a good spot. Don’t forget to pack a cozy blanket, your camera, and maybe a drink (or two) for a night to remember.
