Give your editorial career a boost this summer

Don't miss the chance to hone your editorial skills this summer. In July we are running two courses to help you develop your editorial skills to gain a competitive edge and strong skill set.

Run by expert trainer Sarah Sodhi, the courses will ensure you gain new editorial project management and core publishing skills which you can put into practice immediately.

Editorial Project Management

Two-day course, 2-3 July

This practical course focuses on the skills needed to effectively manage both print and editorial projects. You will receive tips and guidance on managing everyday issues, drawing on digital project management strategies and solutions where applicable.

"It was fantastic. The best training I've been on. The course content was perfectly tailored to my day-to-day job, and the teaching style was friendly, approachable and informative. It felt like a safe space in which to ask questions and admit ignorance, which is not always the case in training."  OUP delegate

Introduction to Editorial Skills

Two-day course, 9-10 July

Created in collaboration with some of the UK's major publishing houses, this course offers a thorough introduction to modern publishing processes and the key skills of proofreading and copy-editing.

"The course met my expectations and beyond. It was good to have to do the pre-course work and the booklet we received was detailed to help us complete the course work.
I enjoyed having to copy-edit and proofread many texts as this improved my skills and knowledge. I enjoyed having Sara, she was well informed in the area and was very accommodating with each of us coming from different publishing houses.”
Sage Publishing delegate

Sarah Sodhi, tutor

Sarah has proofed, tagged, bound, corrected, edited, managed, commissioned, subbed, scheduled, estimated and produced a great deal of content – from interactive, multi-media resources to marketing leaflets, monthly magazines and 900-page medical tomes.

She worked in medical publishing and the public sector before immersing herself in the education sector, editing and managing digital and print resources for various education publishers.
