CLAUDE CAHUN: Writer, photographer, activist in the WW2 French Resistance, and one of the few female surrealists. This stunning exhibition of her enigmatic and playful photographic self-portraits in which she assumed multiple personae opens 18th June at Artsmill.
JOIN US on 17th June @ 3PM for Clare Shaw's poetic response to Claude.

The British-Chinese photographer YAN WANG PRESTON presents FOREST which explores the relationship between urbanisation and nature, via China’s tree-dealing business. In China, the country where cities are springing up, transplanting and re-constructing nature are big businesses. Yan followed many uprooted creatures that are now in concrete deserts.

See BRIDGET CHRISTIE at The Picture House. In March 2017 Bridget’s debut stand-up special STAND UP FOR HER was launched globally on Netflix, making her the first British female comic to have a live stand-up show on the channel. It has also been bought by BBC Brit (Nordic territories) and will be broadcast in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Faroes, and Iceland in early 2018.

THIS IS NOT A SAFE SPACE : Benefit cuts are hitting disabled people the hardest. Half of people in poverty are disabled or live with a disabled person. The future looks grim, so how can we get people to sit up, listen and care and not keel over with empathy-fatigue? Award-winning poet and theatre maker Jackie Hagan’s way has been to make a new solo show.
Writer JOHN HEGLEY has been described as the Spike Milligan of our time. A regular sell-out at The Edinburgh Festival, he has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, the USA Comedy Festival in Aspen, with Ulrika Jonsson & Anita Dobson in The Pyjama Game and on BBC R4's Hearing With Hegley. Hegley is widely known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name.
