Welcome to our May Freedom Digest! Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile
is now officially up and running at The Ambassador in
Bradford and we still have some tickets available for our tour.
We've also got a great blog about the rehearsal
process, from our brilliant assistant director Jaasra, and
we've launched our very own Freedom Studios
podcast!

Smile
We are so excited to open Black
Teeth And A Brilliant Smile at The Ambassador in
Bradford last night. All the Bradford performances are now sold
out, and the tour is also booking up very quickly with sold out
shows in Leeds, Harrogate and Oldham, so please BOOK NOW
to avoid disappointment.
Tickets are still available for performances in Barnsley, Wakefield, Doncaster, and The Holbeck in Leeds.

Director, Kash Arshad writes
from rehearsals earlier in the week;
'I'm
honoured to be tasked with directing Black Teeth and a Brilliant
Smile. As soon as I read Adelle's amazing book, I knew it would
make a fantastic play, and to have someone as talented as Lisa
Holdsworth to adapt it, is really special. We have amassed a
fantastic team of creatives that I am very lucky to be able to
work with. Together, I think we have been able to create a show
that celebrates the work and life one of Bradford's most talented
and unrecognised daughters, and hopefully one she would be proud
of.
A play about
a Bradford playwright, performed in the heart of Bradford, for
Bradford audiences felt like the perfect way to end ADLP Trainee
Artistic Directorship with Freedom Studios.'

The Freedom Studio’s podcast is now available and we
are so excited to launch it this month alongside Black Teeth And A
Brilliant Smile. In each podcast our Artistic Directors
will interview special guests, giving listeners an insight in to
the making of our shows and delving deeper in to some of the
themes.
For our first podcast Co-Artistic Director of Freedom Studios Aisha
Khan, spoke to award-winning screenwriter writer Lisa Holdsworth
and director Kash Arshad about adapting Black Teeth And A
Brilliant Smile by Adelle Stripe, how they began
their creative careers and why this particular book was destined
for the stage.
