Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, 21-30 June 2019

With full details of the Festival that starts this weekend:

Coming up this weekend...

STREET SUNDAY

23 June, St Georges Square & Marina, 1-6pm, Free
Join us in the centre of Hebden for street theatre by acrobats Black Eagles, Circo Rum Ba Ba Bicycle Bistro, Sid Bowfin, Old Time Rags, MC Mike Hancock and a rousing finale from New York Brass Band - North Yorkshire’s only contemporary New Orleans inspired brass band.

Digital Making Workshops
22 June, Big Tin Shed, 10am, 11.45am & 1.30pm Free
10am - Upcycled noise machines £FREE! (no take home)
Make the Robotic Chicken and the Entropic Agitator! Quirky circuits and mechanical sound machines built using upcycled computer junk and e-waste for components.

11.45am - Break-it drop-in: Un-making (dismantling)
Do you like making things? Unmaking is like that but the other way around. It’s gentle destruction. Drop in and have a go at dismantling electronic junk and scavenging the treasure inside for our own evil inventions.

1.30pm - Make a Bass Drive
£8 Materials costs (or bring your own) if you want to take your bass generator home. Hack an old hard drive into a powerful bass generator that you can take away with you. The finished bass generator produces a powerful bass tone when the disk is manually spun; the pitch decreases as the disk slows.

Calrec
22 June, Nutclough Mill, 12pm-4pm Free

For the last 20 years Calrec has developed a range of consoles and network technologies, working alongside broadcasters.

This is a unique chance to experience Hebden’s past and future in their Nutclough Mill, one of the last local textile mills to close.
Explore
22 June, The Egg Factory, 12pm-4.30pm Free / Explore bag £10

Log off, power down, pick up an Explore bag and head for the hills!
The Explore bag is a pack of creative ideas with individually designed activity cards: colour, drawing, sculpting, writing and map-making. All for you to take on a walk. Then share where you've been and what you've seen in a giant creative map.

Working Waters

22, 23 & 29 June, Hebden Bridge Town Hall, 12-5pm, Free
