ROSA MUNDI ENCAMPMENT
24th - 26th August

Explore the bustling Rosa Mundi medieval encampment and take the opportunity to soak up these labourers’ knowledge of the Middle Ages.

 

COMPANY OF ARTISANS
23rd - 27th August

Join the Company of Artisans, as they explore and demonstrate the role of an artisan in the Medieval and Tudor period.

 


PEARL IN THE EGG
27th - 30th August

Acclaimed historical musicians Pearl in the Egg will be playing music from the medieval period in the grounds of Alnwick Castle.

 

RAPHAEL HISTORIC FALCONRY
27th August - 1st September

Join Raphael Historic Falconry for their breathtaking displays and hear all about the popularity of hunting with birds in the Tudor period as their beautiful birds soar around the castle grounds.

 

THE TUDOR SONGBOOK

31st August - 1st September

Dressed in authentic Tudor costumes, join The Tudor Songbook for a concert like no other. Be transported back 500 years, as beautiful vocals and the melodies of the lute combine to perform music that would have been heard in the court of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.

IAN MORTIMER
29 August 2024, 4pm & 7:30pm

We are delighted to welcome acclaimed medieval historian and author Ian Mortimer for afternoon and evening events. Ian will be speaking about The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England at 4pm and Medieval Horizons: Why the Middle Ages Matter at 7:30pm.
 
Learn some essential facts in case you find yourself visiting the Medieval period, and how the Middle Ages weren't quite so dark as we might think!

Please note: If you are visiting the castle that day, you are welcome to join the 4pm event free of charge. Please show your castle Admission Ticket at the door.

The 7:30pm talk is a separate, ticketed event.
