Dear Reader,
|
There’s
nothing like a sneaky skinny-dip if you can get away with it. I’ve been
holidaying in Scotland,
and the joy of a ramble to work up a sweat and then stumbling across a
cool hidden loch among the trees for a secret swim with
not a soul in sight, was all too seductive. Whipping your kit off al
fresco, tossing clothes on the bank and sinking your feet into squelchy
lake bottoms before taking the full-body plunge is half the joy.
Getting out, shaking yourself like a dog and then perching on a
sun-warmed rock to dry out a bit before getting dressed is the second
half. You can then tramp back home, slightly damp, full of heart and
most deserving of the pie and chips you’ve been fantasising about at
the local pub. Holiday perfection.

Have a great week.

Proof That
Reading Is Actually Good For Us
|
Losing yourself in a good book is one of life’s
greatest pleasures. I still remember those hours lost in The Magus, The
Corrections, Wuthering Heights or, more recently, Demon
Copperhead. But we’re losing our reading appetites (mostly, thanks to
our phones). Here’s why it’s good to keep
up the habit.
