THIS MONTH'S
SPOTLIGHT
We're unleashing creativity at the
Labour Party Conference
Creative UK is
thrilled to announce that – in partnership with 40 brilliant creative
organisations – we're programming three days of activity at the
upcoming Labour Party Conference, taking place in Liverpool from
22-25 September.
The Cultural and Creative Industries Pavilion will feature
three days of vital policy discussions, galvanising performances and
cross-sector collaboration. Our star-studded programme features
appearances from Sir Steve McQueen CBE, Cynthia Erivo, Vicky
McClure MBE, Andy Serkis, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, David
Harewood OBE, David Morrissey, Adrian Lester CBE, and
Les Dennis.
Plus, we have
performances from some of the city's extraordinary music talent,
including In Harmony Liverpool (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s
youth orchestra for children from the North of the city), Brad Kella
(winner of Channel 4’s The Piano), Ni Maxine (award-winning
British Neo-Jazz Singer-Songwriter), and celebrated singer-songwriter, Michael
Aldag.

DEADLINE EXTENDED - create change for
the Cultural and Creative Industries with us
You can now submit
your experience to the Access
to Finance research up until Friday 30 August 2024.
The ongoing
research is being undertaken by Creative UK in partnership with the
Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) and BVA BDRC,
supported by the Creative Industries Council, Bloomberg Philanthropies
and YouTube. The survey has built up a good momentum of responses, but
there is still more work to be done.
|
|
Creative SMEs and
organisations are front and centre of this research; we are in a
critical window of opportunity to directly inform the thinking of the
newly formed UK Government, with the real-life experiences reported by
you – owners of creative SMEs and organisations – when accessing
creative funding or finance. A crucial thing to highlight is that
subsector representation is paramount to the efficacy and usefulness of
this research. The more creative subsectors represented in the data,
the bigger the change we can create with positive implications for
everyone from architects to TV producers to choreographers.
Not an
eligible participant for this research? Why not share it with someone
who is.

Leading Change: spotlighting effective
Diversity & Inclusion practices in the Creative Industries
In this
first-of-its-kind project, Creative UK is developing a collection of
case studies illustrating what works for improving Diversity &
Inclusion across our sector, to help improve knowledge and
understanding of effective EDI practice.
We are seeking
examples of good practice that has evidence of impact in addressing EDI
from all sub-sectors and at all levels of the industry from entry to
mid and senior management, from both large and small organisations, and
in both creative and non-creative roles.
This project
provides an opportunity for you to lead change across the sector,
establish yourself as an EDI-conscious employer, grow your company’s
profile and become an advocate for improving diversity and inclusion by
helping the sector to learn from and replicate proven approaches.
To have your
equality and diversity activity featured, please email sarah.gregory@wearecreative.uk
for further details.
