Dear Reader,

I’m putting my house on the market. For the second time in three years. The first time, we didn’t get a sniff, so I pulled it. This time, who knows as we battle the cost of living and much higher mortgage rates. The whole business of house-buying in the UK is agonising, but at least it’s forcing me into a tidying and cleaning frenzy. Vinegar and water work a treat for cleaning windows. Clearing shelves of my way-too-many beauty products – and giving them to Toiletries Amnesty – feels deep satisfiying, and now there’s Bookloop by Bookshop.org which has just launched. Like Vinted for books, it lets me exchange pre-owned books for store credit to use on future Bookshop.org purchases. Brilliant.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

Take Your Friends

I loved Friends. I loved Phoebe’s cat song; Monica’s OCD and Chandler’s geekism. I didn’t much care for Ross, not sure why – and I never believed Rachel would fall for him. If you loved it too, there’s a new live experience in London… Central Perk, here we come.

An Easy Wellness Hack

We all know how good walking is for our health, but a post-food stroll can be particularly beneficial – improving digestion, boosting sleep quality and regulating blood sugar levels. So how soon after the last bite should we be heading out the door? Here’s what the science says.

Wedding Etiquette

No ring, no bring? Yes or no to kids? And who goes on the top table? Weddings are riddled with tricky questions, so we’ve enlisted an event planning expert to decode the ever-evolving rulebook with his top dos and don’ts.

Catch new film Widow Clicquot, the story of Veuve Clicquot’s brand founder Barbe-Nicole, who, widowed at age 27, transformed her late husband’s 18th century winery into a global powerhouse.

Bookworms, this one’s for you: a first of its kind book retreat is coming to Hay-on-Wye. Think bookshop events, local tours and plenty of reading time, plus overnight glamping.

Finish the summer in the best way – at a festival. Norfolk’s biggest foodie event returns to Holkham next weekend, showcasing an abundance of great local produce.

Kick off September with a dose of zen at one of London’s holistic studios, offering everything from sound baths to breathwork to angelic reiki.
