doing some journaling, expressing yourself through poetry or
non-fiction, then join one of our ever popular creative writing
courses.
Learn about different writing styles and genre. Share your
own writing and receive feedback. Explore publishing opportunities

Write Your Novel
Course with David Barnett
Thursday
19th September 6 - 9PM 6 weeks
Shipley Library
On this course David will help you get your novel in the
best shape for publication. He will talk about how to approach literary
agents and publishers, and there will be discussions about what to
expect when you finally land that book deal. Writing your novel –
ideas, structure, style, etc This course is for anyone at any stage of
writing - from those with just an idea at the back of their mind to
those who have a fully formed novel.
David Barnett is a published author, journalist and comic
book writer living in West Yorkshire. His novels include the
best-selling CALLING MAJOR TOM, his latest THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER
GOES OUT, and many more. His newest novel is
He is a cross-genre writer, with science fiction novels to
his name (ALIEN: COLONY WAR), fantasy (THE GIDEON SMITH TRILOGY) as
well as rom-coms such as THE HANDOVER. He has written comics for DC,
including the Sandman Universe line, Archie (RIVERDALE: THE SOUTHSIDE
SERPENTS) and a plethora of strips for 2000AD, including LOWBORN HIGH.
As a journalist he worked for many years at the Telegraph & Argus
and now writes for outlets including The Guardian, the Observer, the
Independent, and the BBC.
This is a rare opportunity to do a course with such an
established experienced writer.
