Cleckheaton Writers Group (CWG) met last Monday night at Cleckheaton Library with Cassie, Gemma, Karen and Kathy in attendance, Alice, Barbara and Michelle having passed on their apologies.
The minutes from the previous meeting were passed and we discussed U3A art club and writing sessions.
WIP updates: Since last meeting Karen has submitted CE to Eve White Agency, entered the NWN Finchale Award and applied for #ThrillPit! Mentorship with her crime novel. She also went to the publishers event at Leeds Lit Fest. Gemma has been editing. Cassie has written some short stories as part of her U3A course. Kathy has rewritten her Earl and Mrs Dunstan beginning scenes and the end of Jayne/Adrian's in her WIP. She has also started a new story about a legacy left to a character by her uncle (who her mum never mentioned) who has to travel to a little village.

Feedback sessions: Kathy shared her new rewritten scenes which were poignant, characterful and well received. This led to a discussion about historical, seasonal writing and research.
Writing plans: Kathy will be working on her new WIP. Cassie will be writing a U3A short story using common language. Gemma will be editing. Karen hopes to either edit, submit or write.
