New Cocktail Menu

Over the past few months our bar team have been hard at work designing and testing a new cocktail menu.
While we have always kept our cocktail menu fluid at The Domino, with tweaks and changes here and there, this is our first ever full re-fresh and we can't wait to share with you what we've been up to.
The drinks team at The Domino have continuously raised the bar since day one and we are over the moon with all the hard work they put into their drinks, extra thanks to Josh, Dan and Lawrence for doing the heavy lifting on this new menu.

Game Of Thrones House Tully
Singleton Glendullan Reserve
 abv. 40%

The ancestral home of House Tully, Riverrun, sits at the junction of the Red Fork of the Trident and the Tumblestone River. The ruling Lord of the Riverlands, House Tully embodies the power and ferocity of the rivers it sits between. Using the power found in their positioning, House Tully forged strong alliances and built a history of honour, family and duty.
Built along the banks of the River Fiddich, Glendullan Distillery originally relied on the waters it lay beside, using a water wheel to power the entire distillery. Like the Tullys themselves, this single malt can benefit from a splash of water, opening up flavours of green apple, honey and sweet vanilla.
50p from each break even measure is donated to the Leeds charity MAP who help underprivileged children get into the arts and music.
Break-Even-Price: £3.50
Usual Price: £7.80

t'Other by Beggars Belief

This Sunday 28th April, 5pm

at The Holbeck, a community club for everyone
run by Slung Low

You Pay What You Decide

t’Other is a riotous contemporary folk story aimed at anyone who wants an entertaining and thought provoking evening.

In a town like ours but not quite now, and slightly off centre from here, Cass & Hillary go about their daily business until their lives are disturbed by the arrival of a curious, enigmatic & annoying stranger. A story of mistrust, intolerance, unexpected friendship, and ultimately, love, t’Other is chaotic in its form, warm in its heart and joyfully jaggedy in its anarchic style of storytelling. Telling a fable for our times, Goofus & Beggars Belief are trying to remain optimistic.
Created by Beggars Belief Collective, a young, Darwen-based company of not-so-young artists/theatre makers, the piece will entertain audiences with a story of our times told through extreme costumes, captivating over-head-projected images and nostalgic soundtrack. The show will also feature a song by our very own Holbeck Choir!

If you wish to sign up to Slung Low’s mailing list and be the first to know about other events at The Holbeck, please click here.
This performance has a limited capacity, so should you change your mind before the event, please let us know by emailing boxoffice@slunglow.org to ensure we do not turn others away unnecessarily.
The performance is You Pay What You Decide – you decide how much to pay after you have seen the performance. All monies are then given directly to the performing company. Please note the venue is cash only.
Car parking is available at the venue.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Holbeck soon.

What to Do This Weekend

🌎 Eco-Edition 🌎

It's coming to the end of a delightfully short week, and we are very much ready for the weekend. Whether the weather will be rainy or sunny, there are some fantastic events and things to do in London and the countryside, UK and world beyond this weekend. Need inspiration? Scroll on...

Plus, here's something that doesn't require a particular location: have a listen to our interiors podcast House Guest. This week's guest: Guinevere.

Went with one of our suggestions? Had a blast? Tell us about it by tagging us on Instagram and Facebook!

What to Do in London:

If you’re anything like us, you’ll like trying new things. New theatre productions, new art exhibitionsnew restaurants, and new bars to make weekend drinks more interesting. But nothing crushes the mood more rapidly than spotting a plastic straw.

Sound like a familiar struggle? Stick to the below list of some of the best bars in London where you won’t find a single plastic straw in sight, and let the good times roll.

Looking to start your own eco-brand, sew your own clothes and learn about sustainability? You can do all this and more at Pebblefest, a new eco-friendly festival at Flat Iron Square, tomorrow. Panel talks will cover topics such as ethical fashion, brewing your own beer & more.

BOOK TICKETS: Pebblefest, Saturday 27th April

This weekend, why not book a table at one of the best vegan restaurants in London? From healthy dishes at Notting Hill's stylish Farmacy, to vegan fried 'chicken' at Temple of Seitan and a futuristic menu at Shoreditch's Essence Cuisine, these menus might just turn you into a vegan full-time.

What to do in the UK & World Beyond:

This weekend, why not take a leisurely drive to quirky Brighton? Walk along the Lanes, sit by the sea, and pre-book the best restaurants with our guide to where to eat (and stay) in Brighton.

The C&TH Guide to Brighton

The time for spring cleaning has arrived, and this year we are going with the theme of sustainability. It’s time to incorporate conscious consumerism into our interiors shopping habits. Not sure where to start? Get to know our favourite sustainable homeware brands and give your home a positive update that will have guests lusting after your creative eye and your conscious shopping-decision-making skills.

As the weather hots up, we’ll be spending more time in our gardens – not just soaking up the sunshine, but planting and pruning. Gardening is naturally a sustainable activity, but there are ways to be more environmentally-conscious, from reducing water wastage to creating your own compost heap. Read our guide to greening up your garden and spend a relaxing weekend indulging in the activity of gardening.

Short Story Selection
Mark Twain's take on the battle of the sexes is funny and witty and brilliant as he writes once from Eve's perspective and then follow-up from Adam's.
A sample observation from Eve, "He talks very little. Perhaps it is because he is not bright..." I recommend starting with Eve first, then move over to the companion piece, Extracts from Adam's Diary.
👨🍳 🍷
Not only will you gain hands-on experience from Kesté's knowledgeable owner and staff, but you’ll also enjoy complimentary glasses of house red and white wines for the afternoon (did somebody say, “SUNDAY FUNDAY!?”) while learning first-hand about fresh mozzarella from an infamous dairy farmer turned Neapolitan pizza-maker!
New York Faces
Geneviève, @gigistabs to her followers, is the example of a hobby quickly flourishing into a dream career. Hailing from the Midwest, she has made Brooklyn her home, and after two years of tattooing herself, the artist now has tattooed over 150 people and has over 50 tattoos of her own.
Read below to learn more about the blue-haired butterfly cheeked creative.
