Idle Women newsletters

Here is the latest information from the Idle Women newsletters:

Newsletter

March marks the end of a major project in St Helens concluding with Power Tools a series of 14 short films made by and for women.

In April we ask for your help with an important new fundraising campaign. By simply placing a vote and spreading the word you can help us raise substantial funds to carry out work to make the physic garden accessible and welcoming for all women.

We also celebrate the start of a new project site in Accrington - The Nursery - a place to grow ideas and look forward to a micro residency with IKON Gallery in Birmingham onboard the Slow Boat.

Power Tools

Power Tools is a series of short films giving step-by-step guidance and encouragement on a range of DIY jobs: from bricklaying and smashing a window, to painting a wall and changing a lightbulb.
Power Tools is a culmination of a two-year deconstructing and rebuilding programme developed through collaboration with women in St Helens, Power Tools is also a call to action.

Premiere 11 April

The Nursery

The Nursery is new place to grow ideas in Accrington, in it's early stages the Nursery is the third idle women site in Lancashire to be created with women.
Join us on Sunday 31 March to plant the surround with an edible hedge and enjoy some welcome care from Physic Garden supporters Weleda.

Mud to Medicine

idle women has been put forward to The People’s Project a national vote where we could win £50,000 for the physic garden.
With your vote and a few moments of your time we have the chance to raise funds to make the garden fully accessible - building a new street entrance, wheelchair welcoming paths, handrails, a buggy park and terraced beds for planting. This vital work will lay the foundations of a garden for women that will last forever.
