Freedom Studios present:
Adelle
Stripe’s
Black Teeth
and a Brilliant Smile
Adapted by Lisa Holdsworth
Directed by Kash Arshad
We’re in The Beacon, Buttershaw, Christmas 1990. That’s in
Bradford, in case you don’t know. And Andrea Dunbar is here,
she’s the one that wrote Rita,
Sue, and Bob Too, a Bradford lass, and a mum, sister,
best friend too. Everyone, every man, has always told her
story. This evening she’s telling it herself. So get yerself a
drink, settle down and listen up.
‘Black
Teeth and a Brilliant Smile’ is a play. It’s
adapted from Adelle Stripe’s ‘outstanding debut novel’ of Andrea
Dunbar’s life by Lisa Holdsworth (she’s done Ackerly Bridge, and Call the
Midwife). Adelle and Lisa are both from Yorkshire an’
all, so they know what they’re talking about. With loads of great
Bradford characters in it, a lot of laughs, and some dark times
too. Come along, we’d love to see ya there.
Opening in Bradford on 30th May at The Ambassador and with shows
selling out fast, don’t miss out and book online today. Black Teeth And A
Brilliant Smile will then be touring to Leeds,
Doncaster, Harrogate and Oldham with more dates to be announced
soon.

Help us get Palestinian artist Riham Isaac to
the UK!
Our very good friend and brilliant director and actor, Riham Isaac,
is coming over to the UK in May. You may know her work from The Alternativity with
Danny Boyle and Banksy. Riham also runs an arts space for children
in adults in Bethlehem where she lives.
Freedom Studios want to support Riham to come over to the UK to
meet with theatre companies, artists, and young people to explore
some collaborations and future plans. To cover the expense of her
visit, we’re turning to friends and colleagues for help. Through an
Arts Council programme any money you donate via us we can match
pound for pound. So if you give £100, we actually raise £200, give
£500 and we get £1000 (you get the picture…!) If there is any way
you can help, no matter what the amount it will all help.
For more information visit here>> and to
donate online go to: https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/7436#/DonationDetails
