What to Do This Weekend:

Sustainable Edition

🌍

To coincide with our new May issue which is all about sustainability, all our online content for the month of April will revolve around sustainability and
eco-friendly content
, too.

So, for the month of April, each Friday newsletter will provide you with eco-friendly inspiration on how to spend your weekends.

Plus, here's something that doesn't require a particular location: have a listen to our interiors podcast House Guest. This week's guest: Will Fisher of Jamb Antiques.

Went with one of our suggestions? Had a blast? Tell us about it by tagging us on Instagram and Facebook!

What to Do in London:

While we can't promise you won't wake up with a hangover the next morning, you can certainly feel better about a night of wining and dining when you're drinking sustainably. Learn your biodynamic wines from your organic and low-intervention variety with help from our guide to sustainable wine - plus, we let you in on the producers changing the way we drink.

Fancy a bite to eat also? Discover your new favourite spot from our round-up of truly
sustainable cafés and coffee shops in London.

Challenge yourself to go plastic-free! The weekends can get especially busy, making the notion of eschewing plastic all the more daunting, but here's our top tips to go plastic-free on the move - it's easier than you'd think. From tote bags to food wraps, we've got you (and the planet) covered.

Always a hub of activity, Covent Garden during Easter is no different. Expect a giant ball pit courtesy of chocolate brand Godiva, a Disney's Aladdin Lamp Hunt around the piazza and London's Most Exquisite Chocolate Easter Egg, created to raise money for Action Against Hunger. April 15 - 22

What to do in the UK?

While you're more likely to spot fallow deer than a lion, Tudor Farmhouse offers the safari experience without an agonisingly long (and bad on your carbon footprint) flight. For the early birds, you can witness the annual springtime dawn chorus. Alternatively, opt for the overnight package, don your wellies and spend the weekend canoeing, cycling, and
seeing UK's nature at its most wild. 13 April - 4 May

Tudor Farmhouse's Wildlife Safari

Where better to celebrate the recent sunshine than amid a sea of 25,000 tulips? Heckfield Place will be hosting a series of flower-themed workshops to commemorate the beginning of spring. Whether you're a bonafide green-thumb or wary novice, there's an event that's perfect for you. April 13 - 14

Good food, good wine and fresh country air. Enjoy all three at Rathfinny's Tasting Room in Sussex where acclaimed chef Martin Carabott will be cooking up a storm. Dine on deliciously fresh food while overlooking the gorgeous sweeping vineyards. April 12 - 14

It's The Weekend
April has brought sun to the city and the flowers to a full and bight bloom.
While we hope you stayed dry Friday night, Saturday's high of 74 will be something you don't wanna miss out on.
Enjoy everything from floral shows to parties in the guide below.
Love Brunch?
For two hours, you’ll leave your inhibitions at the door and become a downright integral part of this culinary adventure.
That’s right, if you’re totally over sitting down at another overcrowded weekend brunch spot and simply stuffing your face (and tummy!) with mediocre egg dishes and watered down Bloody Marys, listen up-- because this is not just another super annoying, boozy brunch.
Party with Heart Frame
In partnership with Instax and the Arlo Hotel, Heart Frame invites you to celebrate your inner self through art at AUGMENTED on April 25th.
Attendees will peruse the group show, inspired by our augmented identities, featuring art by New York based creators Kat Ryals and Jack Azar.
While pursuing the art grab a stick and poke tattoo by @gigistabs or @unfriendly_blackhottie and get your fortune read by tarot reader by Calley Nelson of @extraordinarytarot.
All while enjoying sounds by DJ Skype Williams and refreshments provided by SOUND.

The dress code is metallic (not really, but also yas) plus,  play everyone's favorite game "How Does a Millenial Afford to Live this Way?"

See you there!
Short Story Selection
Author Peter S. Beagle spins a wonderful tale set in historic China, a culture that has inspired many of his writings. The tale follows Kao Yu, a highly respected judge who must travel to a small village to pass sentences that his former teacher is unable to due to an illness.
Normally a judge of his status would not go, but as a favor, he hears out these petty disputes and theft charges. One such pickpocket catches his eye, and he becomes restless with love. His heart begins to change, noticed by his associates when he is no longer visited by the fabled Chinese unicorn, the chi-lin.

Do you think you know all there is to know about Frida Kahlo’s life and art? The Brooklyn Museum is showcasing an exhibit called Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving, and it is the most notable Frida Kahlo debut exhibition in the U.S. to date. You’d be surprised the number of things you’ll learn about what inspired the iconic trailblazer's art, fashion, and political views.
The exhibit provides a profound glimpse into who Frida Kahlo was and how she lived through a collection of newly unsealed personal objects recovered from her Mexico City home, La Casa Azul. They tell many stories, all of which imply a life of tragedy, betrayal, and disability that shaped her art and perspective.
The collection’s debut at the Brooklyn Museum is perfect since Brooklyn is the very heart of creativity in NYC. We’ve seen some famous artists emerge from, and are also inspired, by our incredible city. This Kahlo exhibit only sheds more inspiration for women, emerging artists, the disabled, the strong-willed in heart and spirit.
