October’s Sounds About Write

with Adam Farrer and Beverley Ward talking Mostly Memoir

We’re very lucky to have bestselling writer Adam Farrer as our guest this month. He’s got a few accolades under his golden belt:

He’s a writer, lecturer and editor based in Manchester. He runs the creative nonfiction writer development organisation, The Real Story and was the inaugural Writer in Residence for Peel Park, Salford. His first book, Cold Fish Soup, a memoir in essays about life on the crumbling East Yorkshire coast, won the NorthBound Book Award at the 2021 Northern Writers’ Awards and was published in 2022.

Beverley Ward is a writer, facilitator, consultant and writing coach, and is the founder of The Writers Workshop. Beverley is the author of three books including Dear Blacksmith: A Journey of Love and Loss - a memoir about the loss of her partner, Blacksmith Paul.

She’s also a lover of the East Coast and will be chatting to Adam about seaside towns, the complexities of writing personal reflections - and possibly also about his fabulous suit!
