‘Wangari’s Trees of Peace’ with Mud
Pie Arts
Have you heard of Kenya’s ‘Mama Miti’, The Mother of the
Trees? Be inspired by the true story of a village girl who grew up to
lead women to plant millions of trees in Africa. In troubled times,
Wangari Maathai faced many dangers and went on to win the Nobel Peace
Prize. Join Jenna for an interactive storytelling session based on the
beautiful book by Jeanette Winters. Help Wangari defend the city’s park
from the bulldozers. Learn about the many ways trees help us all. Try
your hand at leaf identification. Take a seed home and give three
cheers for the incredible Wangari Maathai!
Suitable for 5-11 years. Not suitable for under fives.
Limited spaces. Booking essential - contact library direct.
