Reuben Solo @ Seven

Tonight, Wednesday 19th July 6-7.15pm, a Special Rush Hour Jazz – the ‘Berlin Connection’ with pianist, Declan Forde, drummer, Jordan Dinsdale and bassist, James Banner, now pursuing their music careers in the jazz melting pot of Berlin. Tonight, together with tenor sax player, Will Howard they form a formidable quartet. Seven Bar. PAYF donations.

Tomorrow, Thursday 20th July 7.30pm, ‘A Thing Called Love’. Through six separate stories performed by five actors, the theme of the evening is alternative everyday real-life love. Each monologue looks at a different type of love and examines the role of women in society and female empowerment. £10

Look forward to Reuben Solo – Palindrome on Friday 21st July, 8pm. This winner of the Adelaide Fringe 2023 Weekly Award – Best Comedy,  brings his show about paradox and parachutes and other crazy notions "that will probably get me deported". ‘Side splittingly funny… a unique style all of his own. -The Barefoot Review. £16.

Two great music events on Saturday 22nd July. Summer Saturdays continue with Hazjak, playing original Americana, blues and roots duo, featuring Steve Chapman Smith and Lynne O’Malley. 4-6pm Seven Arts Courtyard. Seven Bar if wet. PWYF donations.

And at 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd July, Mewl Music – Phil Langran Band and Plumhall. Two acclaimed acts come together for one unforgettable evening of original music. “Plumhall pack a punch, with powerful guitars and luscious textures of original folk rock and pop. Electrifying.” – Folk and Honey. Phil Langran, “Musically astute and lyrically absorbing.” £12.50 advance / £15 on the door. Doors 7pm. Organised by MEWL Music

On Sunday 23rd July 1.30pm, JazzLeeds – Celebrating Milt Jackson : The John Settle Quartet.  2023 marks the 100th birthday of the legendary vibe-ist Milt “Bags” Jackson, one of the most recorded jazz musicians of all time, famously with the Modern Jazz Quartet. John Settle and his quartet play tribute to the master. Doors 1pm music 1.30-4pm £12/£10.

And this weekend's food Pop-up – Just Munchen  serves first class bratwurst, currywurst, and frankfurters imported from Germany. Vegan options available. Saturday 22nd July 12-8, and Sunday 23rd July 12-5.
