With thanks to Country and Townhouse, here are five things you won't want to miss:
|
To balance my nascent nuclear war fear (I
found myself Googling ‘what happens in a nuclear war’ the other day), I’m
taking a step back from the news cycle to bury my hands
in the soil. Easter –
and its four glorious work-free days – is a time for far more earthly
pleasures: for mulching flower borders, for sowing seeds for summer salad crops
and for foraging in garden centres. And for chocolate, of course. If I’m
going down, I want a tummy full of Prestat’s champagne
truffles.
Happy Easter.

EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

CAFÉ
CULTURE WITH A VIEW
I love the new work versatility of being able to set up shop in a café with
your laptop to work in a convivial atmosphere with great coffee on tap. But
if your surroundings also offer something
pleasing to the eye, it helps when your mind goes
a-wandering…

BILL
BROWDER
If you’re a Radio 4 junkie like me, you’ll no doubt have heard ‘Putin’s
number one enemy’ Bill Browder all over the airwaves, especially on the
Today programme. We interviewed
him a few years back and I was first in line to buy his new
book Freezing
Order.

HUNTER'S
KILLING EVE BOOTS
Confession time, I have six pairs of Wellingtons, ranging from my
handcrafted Chameaus to my trusty Dubarrys. No one needs six pairs, but I
might just be heading for a seventh. I love these limited-edition
Hunters, especially when they’ve been worn by cult
killer Villanelle. (Image: courtesy of Hunter Boots & Killing
