With thanks to Country and Townhouse, here are five things to do in London this week:
|
My dad turned 80 recently and it finally prompted me to start
capturing his life and getting it written down for posterity. So, usually
over Zoom and a glass of wine, we schedule a half hour session where he
talks about a certain aspect of his career or family history or education
(I’ve yet to ask him what he thinks about his children!). I then upload the
audiofile to Rev.com and
the next day a perfect transcript arrives in my inbox. I’ve got about
15,000 words so far and I suspect we’re only halfway through. Then the edit
will begin, but I guess I’m quite well set up for that.
Have a great week.

THE BOTHER
APP
Shopping for the boring but necessary stuff (cleaning products, toothpaste
etc.) is a chore, but here to take away the strain in a more sustainable,
AI-enabled way is Bother,
which works out what you need and when you need it. Clever.

MICROPLASTICS
I was horrified to read last week that for the first time, microplastics
have been found in our blood. Want to know how to start cutting them down
in your life? Read

THE
MAXWELL STORY
How much media space can be squeezed out of the story of Robert Maxwell and
his daughter Ghislaine is somewhat mindblowing. I’ve read the books,
watched the documentaries, listened to the podcasts and tomorrow I’ll be
tuning into BBC2’s riveting new docuseries, The
House of Maxwell. Why can’t I get enough? (Image: DOJ /
