Cleckheaton Writers Group (CWG) met last night with Alice, Barbara, Cassie, Gemma and Karen in attendance, Kathy having passed on her apologies.
The minutes from the last meeting were passed.
WIP updates: Alice has started writing as part of Bootcamp for CampNaNoWriMo. Barbara has written more stories and typed some old ones up. She is aiming to get them all typed up by the end of the year. Gemma has been beta reading. Cassie has a break from her U3A writing workshops. Karen has been editing, entered three competitions and submitted to one agent. She has also been working with her cover designer for her novel Christmas Evie, due out later this year.
CW comps/workshops/events: The Write Mentorships opened on 1 April and the Grazia competition deadline is 12 April 2022.
Feedback sessions: Alice shared her bug WIP Fuzz Invasion for feedback. It is aimed at 7-9 year-olds and older reluctant readers). Cassie felt it was aimed at the right age group and that they'd like the concept. Barbara and Cassie were unsure of some of the computer terminology and this led to a discussion about the book.
Writing plans: All are continuing to work on their WIPs , editing or beta reading.
Writing challenge: The April theme is Easter.
Date of next meeting: Due to the Bank Holiday, the next meeting has moved to the 25th of April and then the 9th of May after that to continue fortnightly avoiding the Bank Holidays.
