My husband and I went to see this Pantomime before Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was a truly inventive, for all the family pantomime which had us laughing to the point of almost hyperventilation. The set was psychedelic and colourful, as were the costumes, and a strong script and acting elevated what could have been a by-the-book pantomime into an original and modern fast-paced spectacular.
Thomas Cotran as Jack and Megan Turner, Jill, have chemistry and engaging personality. Heather Pheonix entertaining as both fortune teller Fortuna and twin Spatula, the Giant's cook. James McClean is a camp villain, as Nightshade think Craig Revel-Horward meets male Taylor Swift, and Declan Wilson great comedy timing as King Crackpot. Dame Dorothy Trott steals the show, acted superbly by Robin Simpson and we particularly loved the bohemian rhapsody set piece and the hilarious double-entendres.
With excellent singing throughout and plenty of audience interaction for the little ones, this is a treat of a pantomime that you should rush to see, as it is sure to set up a Happy New Year.
A colourful, inventive and fast paced treat. 10/10
