Creative Future seeks an experienced arts administrator and programmer to organise and deliver the Creative Future Literary Awards. This is a fantastic opportunity to support emerging under-represented writers, from our offices in Brighton. Closing date: January 7th 2018.

We're very pleased to announce that Arts Council England have granted funding for the Creative Future Literary Awards in 2018. We'll be back in the new year with our national writing competition, workshops, showcase event, Writer in Residence opportunity and some extra-special events.

2018 Tight Modern Winners’ Tour Private View

Thursday, 14th December, 5-6:30pm
Jubilee Library


We’ll be celebrating the very new version for the Winners’ Tour, a mini model of our iconic miniature replica of the Tight Modern, projecting the artwork of 15 artists--10 winners from last year’s tour plus 4 ‘wild card’ artists picked by Creative Future from Tight Modern 2016/17 exhibitors. The selected artists are:
Dawn Blake, Lucy Richards, Elle Isolde, Joy Turner, Paula De Sousa, Don Gibson, Emily Calland, Danika McElroy, Pat Gregson, Anne Windsor, Adrian Mundy, Yvonne J Foster, Mike Strevens, Paul Bellingham, Jack Haslam.

Creative Future seeks an experienced arts administrator and programmer to organize and deliver the Creative Future Literary Awards (CFLA) (www.cfliteraryawards.org.uk) - an annual high profile literary awards competition & event showcasing the UK's most talented under-represented writers. The CFLA Project Manager will: nurture partnerships, organize the workshop programme, awards anthology & award event, manage the writer-in-residence scheme and most importantly, provide support to under-represented writers in the lead up to the competition and after the awards event. If you would like to work for an enterprising arts charity in a small informal office based in Brighton download the job pack.

Meet the Writer: Alan Morrison

This series showcases under-represented writers and artists and how they got their work ‘out there’.

Alan Morrison is the author of several critically acclaimed poetry collections which include A Tapestry of Absent Sitters (Waterloo Press, 2009), Keir Hardie Street (Smokestack Books, 2010), Captive Dragons (Waterloo Press, 2011), Blaze a Vanishing/The Tall Skies (Waterloo Press, 2013), Shadows Waltz Haltingly (Lapwing, 2015) and Tan Raptures (Smokestack Books, 2017). He is editor of The Recusant (www.therecusant.org.uk).

Developing Confidence: Creative Coaching

Drawing on a mix of discussion, creative exercises and reflection, this workshop is designed to develop the tools and strategies to see us through situations where we may not feel confident – from reading out loud to meetings to interviews.
 

Editing and Preparing Your Work for Submission

Wednesday, 31st January, 1-4pm
New Writing South


Get your work ready for publication or competitions. Learn the art of editing, redrafting and polishing, increasing your chances of success. This workshop will show you how to get work ready for submission via a series of fun exercises.
