Jazz Was Jazz

The Arts Society and Kansas Smitty’s have
collaborated for a one-off event that will celebrate the story of
how jazz came to be: from its roots in the slave songs of
American plantations and African polyrhythms to the European
classical tradition.
This Sunday, performers and speakers such as Sandy Burnett,
Marcus Bonfanti and Joplin Parnell will come together to provide
an insightful evening of talks, interactive workshops and
performances, whilst guests sip Kansas Smitty‘s signature
juleps and indulge in Deep South inspired street food. 4pm-late, 12
November. Buy tickets here.
Why not head to one of London's best jazz bars afterwards? Check out our guide here.
