On the door to my office, I’ve posted my favorite BookBaby ad. It’s getting a little ragged around the edges because it has been up there for a while. But the message is just as valid as the day it was printed.

In fact, here’s a picture of it.

There are very few universal truisms in the business of publishing, but recommending that authors take the time–and money–to pay for good editing is one of them.
