Sarah Millican - Extra Date!

Due to phenomenal demand, we are delighted to announce that in addition to her Fri 27th July date Sarah will also be performing her new show Control Enthusiast on Thu 26th July!  Sarah Millican is not a control freak, she's a control enthusiast. She even controls her own insults, see?

Do you arrange the nights out? Are you in charge of passports on holiday? Then so are you! Whether you’re sorting the tickets for this show or turning up when you’re told to, welcome. You’ll learn about Rescue Men, farting in hospital pants, what can happen at a bra fitting, the benefits of casserole, plus tips on how to talk to shop assistants and the correct way to eat a biscuit. Funny, frank and unapologetically filthy. Tickets £27.50

Kirklees Concert Season: Exotic Homelands

Huddersfield Town Hall

Thursday 30 November, 7.30pm

 
Join the Orchestra of Opera North for a stunning concert this November and revel in the works of two masterpieces of English music: Britten's sensational SoirĆ©es musicales Op. 9 and Elgar's beautiful First Symphony. Also on the programme is Mozart's exquisite Violin Concerto No. 5 – don’t miss this selection of breathtakingly beautiful scores.

Benjamin Britten, SoirĆ©es musicales Op. 9: A quickfire set of five movements, the piece swiftly dances from the jovial March into the sparkling movements that follow – simply mesmerising.

Mozart, Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major: Bursting with intricate detailing, the melodies tumble from heartfelt poignancy to expressive energy in this charmingly beautiful score. American soloist Elena Urioste makes her debut at the Kirklees Concert Season to perform this magnificent piece.

Elgar, Symphony No.1: Bursting with sensational flourishes, bold statements and dramatic punches, the symphony swells as the atmospheric phrasing intensifies and is incredible when performed live.

The concert will be led by acclaimed conductor Garry Walker. Garry last conducted the orchestra in Opera North's five-star production of Billy Budd, we're delighted to bring this electric relationship back to the concert hall.

Icons of the 80's Go West!

This Brit Award winning band was formed in 1982 by Peter Cox and Richard Drummie, who went on to have huge commercial success and established themselves as one of the most successful singer/songwriter duos of the 80s.
Six albums and 20 million sales later, Go West are stronger than ever. They have enjoyed numerous chart singles worldwide, notably 'King Of Wishful Thinking', the opening song in the hugely successful film 'Pretty Woman'.
