I hope you’re one of the hundreds of aspiring and published authors who
have come to Philadelphia for the Independent Authors Conference. We’ve
just kicked off the event with a great keynote talk by Lee Wind, Director
of Marketing and Programming for the Independent Book Publishers
Association, and the few dozen amazing presentations and panels that
follow will make for a great opening day!
If you’re not here, you can follow the conference on Twitter (#IndieAuthorCon) and then make plans to come
to next year’s event. (Psst, it’s going to take place on November
2nd-4th, 2018 in Philly. You’re the first to know!)
A lot of important information is going to be shared by our speakers
today. So I thought I’d go back into our BookBaby blog archives and
present what’s probably the best advice I’ve ever shared with
self-published authors. It has to do with your book distribution. My main
point: “Less is more” is a cute phrase for minimalists. But when it comes
to book distribution, the words for self-published authors to live by
are: “More is more!” You can read all about
it here.
I know I’ve missed Halloween by a couple of days, but if you’re still in
the mood for a monstrously good time, did you know that the man who
played Herman Munster in the old TV show “The Munsters” also wrote and
illustrated children’s books? Have a look
here.
