You can now see how Metrolink fare changes
will affect your journeys from January next year.
By using the handy online ticket selector
you'll be able to check out ticket prices before they come into effect in
January 2018.
Metrolink fares will rise on average by
5.93% - but the overall percentage increase will vary between individual
tickets.
The new fares include an increase of
around 4% (split into 1.33% per year) – plus the annual RPI+1% over the
course of the next three years. As Metrolink receives no public subsidy,
any fares revenue pays for the rise in network operating costs.

A hard-hitting short film about autonomous
weapons which is making headlines across the world, was written and
produced in MediaCityUK.
Award-winning production and visual
effects specialists, Space Digital, based at MediaCityUK, also did all of
the post-production on ‘Slaughterbots’, which was made for the USA’s Future
of Life Institute.
The film channels a near-future dystopian
world where artificially intelligent drones become terrifying killing
machines in an attempt to raise awareness about the dangers of autonomous
weapons.
With over 400,000 views on YouTube on its
initial release and articles published in the Guardian, Independent, CNN
and Daily Mail, the film has obviously struck a chord with viewers and
concerned spectators.
