Word Club Yaffle Prize poetry competition

Here is the latest information from Word Club, including the new Yaffle Prize poetry competition:

Hello everyone
Here is news of a brand new publishing company starting off with a competition.
Start the new year with a sub or two!

We are delighted to officially launch YAFFLE today, a brand new poetry press brought to you by Mark Connors, Michael Farren, and Lorna Faye Dunsire, with a little help (in some cases, a lot of help) from our friends.

We are launching with THE YAFFLE PRIZE 2019, a competition where poets not only get to win cash prizes but we are also publishing our debut anthology and around 60 poems submitted to the competition will be selected for 'WHIRLAGUST', due out March/April!

The winner of the Yaffle Prize will receive £200, second place will receive £50 and third place, £25.

The winner, runners-up, highly commended poets, and those who make the short list and long list, will be published in our inaugural poetry anthology, entitled WHIRLAGUST, which will be published in the spring. We'll be having a launch party (date and venue TBC).

Have a look at our website for all you need to know about submitting to THE YAFFLE PRIZE 2019 and we look forward to reading your work. The deadline is midnight 28th February 2019. Keep an eye out for further news of our pamphlets and collections due out in the spring/summer 2019.

Please share this with anyone you think may be interested.

Last but not least, The YAFFLE TEAM wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
