Royal Northern College of Music Brass Band Ensemble, under the baton of Phillip McCann, present the rousing Christmas Spectacular at both Huddersfield (10 Dec) and Dewsbury Town Hall (12 Dec), and the Huddersfield Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs join Gordon Stewart to captivate with festive music from around the world on Thursday 20 December (HTH).

KAFE: Turning the Page with Sarah Ward

KAFEWriting workshop with crime author Sarah Ward
This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to gain tips from a successful crime fiction author. The workshop will focus on showing participants how to keep a reader turning the pages.
Sarah Ward is author of the DC Childs crime series set in the Derbyshire Peak District. Her books have been described as ‘tense, well-told story of loss and family secrets' and ‘relentless in its grip’. Her novel, A Patient Fury, was The Observer’s Thriller of the Month.
This is a Kirklees Author Forum Exchange event - come along and network with fellow authors and writers. After you book a place, you will be emailed a pre-workshop questionnaire to complete and return.

Bodega are a Brooklyn art punk band under the influence of rock and roll, post punk, contemporary pop, hip-hop, kraut rock, and folk-derived narrative songwriting.

Something for everyone

Christmas can seem very stressful with all the shopping and preparing for the big day, so its nice to take some time to unwind and wrap yourself in festive cheer.  With brass bands, choirs, pantomimes and classical concerts we have something for everyone at our Town Halls.  Here is a whistle stop tour of what's on offer...

Festive brass bands and Christmassy choirs

Brass band fans are in for a treat, with 8 shows to choose from. 
It all begins on 1 December when Hammonds' Band visit Batley.

Then there will be carols a plenty in Huddersfield when Huddersfield Choral Society and Black Dyke play on 7 December.

Honley Male Voice Choir and Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band will be entertaining us on 8 December.

Our lunchtime concerts will also take a festive brass theme in Huddersfield on 10 December and Dewsbury on 12 December.

Huddersfield Choral Society are performing Christmas classic Handel's Messiah with the Royal Northern Sinfonia on 18 and 19 December at Huddersfield Town Hall

On 20 December in Huddersfield we have a lunchtime concert featuring Gordon Stewart and the Huddersfield girl's and boy's choirs performing music for Christmas.
