Cleckheaton Literature Festival anthology launch, 1pm Saturday 15 December, Cleckheaton Library

This Saturday sees the third and final launch of the Cleckheaton Literature Festival anthology at Cleckheaton Library. The FREE event starts at 1pm and there will be reading from poets Ralph Dartford and Noel Whittall and short story writer Mandy Huggins. All anthologies bought at the launch will be at a reduced price of £5 on the day and they can be signed by the writers at the event. There will be a book raffle and the opportunity to purchase books by our visiting poets and writers.

The event takes place from 1pm at Cleckheaton Library, Whitcliffe Road, Cleckheaton, BD19 3DX

Our second reading will be from poet Noel Whittall who is well-known for writing and performing his poetry in and around Leeds for many years. He is a keen supporter of Otley Poets and founded the thriving ‘Poetry Gym’ series of monthly writing workshops. He also established the ‘Poetry on the Wall’ display system which put the work of local poets, as well as old and famous ones, before wide audiences in the waiting areas of the Leeds Hospitals Trust. Far from the popular image of the poet as an angst-ridden loner in a garret, Noel is often found enjoying an active role in the world of antique motorcycles, about which two of his books have recently been published. His latest poetry collection is ‘Speak Another Language’, pub OWF Press 2014.

Tomorrow's post will feature details of our remaining reader short story writer  Mandy Huggins.

Hope to see you at the event.
