Hi ,
August is about to end and
September is just about to begin, but the cultural and art festivals seem
to be never-ending. It truly is a celebratory time where art and theatre
are showcased in different corners of the globe through annual festivals,
workshops and exhibits. There are so many live and visual art events lined
up for you that it will be difficult to catch up. If not all of them, mark
your presence at the art events near you
and take away some art lessons and inspiration. |

Pick a Read

We
speak on behalf of the bookworms and sometimes readers alike when e say we
need a new gripping, tantalizing page-turner! Everyone’s a writer in NYC.
Since there's no way to distinguish which writers are good and which aren't,
book selection can be tricky. Don’t be misled when picking your next read,

Green Movement
The
sea levels are rising and so are youth activists in Lower Manhattan. The
arrival of climate activist Greta Thunberg was welcomed by many aware of
climate change and environmental changes.
She arrived via
emission-free yacht in time to make it to the climate strike outside of the
U.N as well as the climate march. If Greta Thunberg can travel across the
Atlantic, on a 15-day voyage for environmental awareness, there must be more
subtle ways we could all make our footprints a little more green.

Get Healthy
Obesity
and asthma have been found to plague a larger percentage of children from
lower-income neighborhoods than others and its no secret that healthcare
provided for cheap lacks in quality.
In order to combat
this crisis, the NYC Equity Initiative is examining statistics. On part of
different healthcare professionals, critical research that will examine
possible solutions to the epidemic will call into question factors such as
mental wellness, diet, exercise and more.

The Battle with Diabetes
Due
to sugary diets and misinformation, diabetes has become a common illness in
our society. More than 60,000 New Yorkers currently dealing with diabetes
will receive service from the new, optimized diabetes program being launched
at NYC Health + Hospitals.
The program will
include an investment in new clinical staff, new technology and other
equipment necessary. Learn more about the program features for yourself or
loved ones and how it could help improve quality of life.
