Ice Cream Arrives in Soho
It’s
not just for a walkthrough and visitors won’t be reading descriptions of ice
cream flavor and their origins! Those that visit the new flagship location
can expect an absolute submersion in creamy, sweet and rich ice creams. The
permanent Soho space comes after the Museum of Ice Cream’s pop-up became a
hit, selling 30,000 tickets within five days.
Since they’ve set
the tone for foodie-themed museums with their success, it’s no gamble that a
permanent location will thrive. The museum’s collaborations with Sephora and
Target have highlights a few ways which our love for ice cream can manifest
unforeseen relationships. The Museum of Ice Cream will distinguish itself as
a longtime favorite with perks like a 25,000 square foot sprinkle pool, a
three-story tall slide and much more! It’s going to be a substantial
sensation once those doors open.

sauce and avocado inspired by Hainanese chicken rice served at Coast and
Valley. Lastly, experience a D’Artagnan bird cooked as an herbs de Provence
roast adorned with a Meyer lemon, roasted tomatoes, and olive chicken stock
from Estuary.
Although chicken
can please some of the pickiest eaters, it doesn’t have to be boring while
getting the job done. In it’s organic, hormone-free and farm-raised
simplicity, some of the aforementioned locations and many others are using
global cuisine to reinvent and spice up poultry. Read more about how
sustainable meat is making a comeback int he food scene thanks to innovative

New Authentic Tacos
With
a pair of birria tacos priced at $4 and a cup of consomme for $3, eaters
cannot go wrong by taking a trip down to Jackson Heights, Queens. The strip
famous for its food trucks has been joined by Mexican flavors all the way
from West Coast.
New Yorkers
chasing authentic tacos have been aware of the lack of birria available from
existing venues. The highlight of the Beefrria-Landia cart and their menu is
their birria, a style of cooking which created a chile-infused goat or beef
that is a signature from Jalisco. The tacos go best paired with a bowl of
their cilantro and meat soup, making it an extremely affordable and
satisfying experience altogether.

What New Yorkers Say
We
like to think of ourselves a certain way, and when someone challenges that
image, it's not always pleasant. New Yorkers have a strong sense of who we
are, but still, it's fun to get a perspective from fresh eyes. Moving to New
York City wasn't without its cultural adjustments for Rebecca Shortall,
mainly centered around social habits. Apparently, the native New Yorkers
Rebecca met along the way were serving up commentary that is not necessarily
encouraged or seen as usual in England.
The compliments
she received on the streets shocked her. Oh, we speak our minds without being
asked to about aesthetics and other superficial things that aren't our
business? No surprise there. What else? Since she was in a new city Rebecca
accepted advice. Rebecca noted recommendations to eat at a specific spot,
over and over. Out of all the places to grab a bite, people told her she had
to eat at Shake Shack. Yeah, yummy but a must-have? Who was it she spoke
with? Let's do better as a society!

City Cancels Micro Living
It's
an ongoing joke of sorts that New York doesn't have enough space for its
inhabitants and there is a ton of truth to this. Yes, some apartments in New
York City are tiny, but there are limits to the madness. Eighteen single
apartments in Manhattan were recently at the center of the scandal. The
illegal units are being labeled micro-apartments.
With some ceilings
as low as 4 and a half feet high, the symptoms of the housing crisis in the
city continue. Some of the dangerous apartments were without windows, proper
fire alarm systems, and lacked necessary safety measures. The landlords of
these apartments units have been fined for renting them out at all. The
unlucky tenants displaced by the bust are currently being looked after by the
Red Cross.

Cars Causing Chaos
A
quarter-century ago, bikers were dying due to the misconduct of vehicles on
the road. In today's world, despite the work of activists, bicyclists are
still facing injury and fatality. Due to congested roads, road rage, careless
drives and improper use of biking lanes in what is now known as "car
culture" lives are lost. From personal experience bike riding in NYC for
the last 40 years, Charles Komanoff calls for reorganization and limitation
on NYC streets. He's not alone. As tension's rise around the recent deaths of
people on our roads, protests are aiming to address loose laws.
Laws that aren't
penalizing and restricting road criminals who have driving violations and a
history of endangering others on the road enable the accidents to reoccur.
Activists seek to minimize the privatized parking, which holds crucial space
indefinitely in cramped streets. Lastly, slack green regulations on vehicles
aren't doing enough to reduce noise pollution, emissions or make cleaner safe
spaces for families on foot or bicycles. In a shared city, there is no longer
a place for "car culture," instead regulations and motorists should
work toward the creation of an inclusive culture for those on foot, bike,
scooter, and board.
