UPCOMING SHOWS
Status by Chris
Thorpe: Sunday 22nd September at 5pm
We are thrilled to announce that the celebrated northern playwright,
theatre maker and friend of the company Chris Thorpe will make his debut
at The Holbeck with his multi-award-winning show, Status.
We all have a nationality. Or almost all of us. Status is a show
about someone who doesn't want his any more. About running away from the
national story you're given. About who is responsible for that story and
what might happen to it if you give it up. A globe-spanning journey of
attempted escape, with songs along the way.

performance full of a brilliant, prowling precision…” Scotsman Fringe First Award

Hey Diddle Diddle! by Goblin: Saturday 19th
October at 1pm
A hilarious theatrical adventure filled with music and puppetry, for
children aged 3+ and all the family.
When the full moon shines bright there’s magic in the air, and all the
animals come out to play. Stay up late with flying cows, jazzy cats
and runaway crockery and as we jump and jive to the music in a
brilliant new take on the classic nursery rhyme. Ever wondered
how a cow jumped over the moon? Or why the dish ran away with the
spoon? With original songs played live on stage, brilliant puppetry
and lots of laughter, this new show is a wild and musical
celebration about the importance of imagination.
Goblin are an acclaimed theatre company who make shows for young people
and families.

The Unknown by
Manic Chord: Saturday 19th October at 2.15pm
An outdoor adventure story for young people aged 7+ and all the family.
Amber, a tech savvy teen and her rather more traditional grandmother,
Dawn are onto something supernatural. With fellow members of the Society
for Speculation, can the daring duo get to the bottom of these
gravitational goings on?
The Unknown is a 2 chapter alien adventure story perfect for all the
family, where you play the detectives. This 80’s inspired
extra-terrestrial experience is guaranteed to be truly out of this world!
This is a walkabout performance that takes place outdoors so please
prepare for the weather.
The Unknown is created and performed by Manic Chord, a Leeds-based
company that creates contemporary theatre through lyrical and physical
languages.
Hey Diddle Diddle! and
The Unknown are
part of ‘How To Jump Over The Moon’, a day long festival of performances
and workshops at The Holbeck for young people on Saturday 19th
October. Look out for further announcements about the rest of the day’s
events.
Save The Date – Back
