We are delighted to welcome BBC News at Six presenter and former award-winning Foreign Correspondent George Alagiah to Noirwich Crime Writing Festival for the annual crime writing lecture.

George's lecture will draw on a career at the BBC spanning over 30 years, weaving in details of violence, greed and corruption from his highly-anticipated crime novel The Burning Land. Don't miss the chance to enjoy an evening in the company of one of the nation’s foremost journalists – a respected figure with genuine insight on the state we find ourselves in.

Noirwich Crime Writing Festival is a partnership between the National Centre for Writing and the University of East Anglia.





Elvira Dones in conversation
Albanian-Swiss author to discuss gender and multiculturalism with her translator and publisher

Join Albanian-Swiss author Elvira Dones, her translator Clarissa Botford and publisher Stefan Tobler as they discuss the journey of her first novel translated in to English, Sworn Virgin. The book, described by Kapka Kassabova in the Guardian as a 'gripping metamorphic tale' follows a fascinating tradition of women in northern Albania who live as men in their households.

New! Drop-in writing time
Thursday 26 September, 5.30pm, National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall

Join us after work each month for a free drop-in writing session! We’ll start off with a mini writing exercise, before 50 minutes uninterrupted writing time, followed by a final half hour of mingling. Bring your favourite notebook or your laptop, and we’ll bring the tea and biscuits.
