with new elements, images, partners and workshops. Explore a themed selection of images and objects from
the collections of Kirklees Libraries, Kirklees Trabscription
Service, Kirklees Museums and Galleries, the West Yorkshire Archive
Service,
Heritage Quay (the official archive of Huddersfield University) and
new to the exhibition - the Holocaust Exhibition and Learning
Centre. In partnership with the British Library and the Living

Your Mark with artist Jean McEwan
Join Artist Jean McEwan who will show you how to make
a simple instant book from one sheet of paper, on which you can
write, draw print and collage, exploring the theme of Yorkshire,
communication and writing.
Using Kirklees Libraries Ephemera (ephemera, items designed to be
useful or important for only a short time, for example pamphlets,
notices, tickets, items that can't be shelved ) or feel free to bring
along your own materials (photographs, letters, scraps of paper) . At
the end you'll have a book which you can photocopy and make multiple

An introduction to the art of calligraphy. Learn the
basics and try your hand at some calligraphic techniques. Please note, attendees will need to pay £2 for the
equipment used to complete the class (payable in cash on the day),
which they will then get to keep Huddersfield Library Monday August 19th 5.30pm - 7.00pm

Or what the Crocodile eats for lunch? With live music, songs, puppetry and curious
characters, the classic tales by Rudyard Kipling are brought to life
for all the family. Suitable for 4-7 years - but all ages welcome

empowering storywalk celebrating Votes for Women. Discover more about the people who risked so much to
fight for the right to vote. Inspired by “Suffragette” by David
Roberts, shortlisted for the Greenaway prize.
Recommended for age 6+ because the walk is a little longer, the
reading is more challenging and the activities are designed to give
the children more independence.
Please note that although children must be accompanied by an adult,

Prize-winning Schindler’s Ark talks about his new work The Book Of
Science & Antiquities, a bold, millennia-spanning novel about
what it means to be human.. This is a live screened talk from the British Library
being shown at: Huddersfield Library Thursday August 29th 7.00 pm - 8.30 pm
