Jeremiah, 3-5 September, Creative Scene

Creative Scene's new show Jeremiah, gig theatre based around the Luddite Rebellion, comes to Kirklees this September. Full details below:

Check out rap-storyteller Jack Dean in action in the trailer for Jeremiah.

5 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE LUDDITES

The Luddites were a tiny radical band of techno-phobes who hated progress and didn’t have much of an impact on anything, right? Wrong!

Jack Dean, creator of the raucous new gig theatre show Jeremiah, is here to tell you why the Luddites actually liked technology, confused the government with their made-up leader King Ludd, and sparked changes that are still being felt today. Check out Jack’s blog post here

Brought to life as a live music gig performed by rap-storyteller Jack and his three-piece band, Jeremiah tells the incredible true story of the much-misunderstood Luddite rebellion – a movement that spanned the whole of North of England and took place on the streets of Kirklees.

The third show in 'We The People', a series of shows about real people making real change, Jeremiah is coming to venues in Mirfield, Dewsbury and Cleckheaton 3rd-5th September.
