Hello New York,
IT'S THE WEEKEND - well...almost if you're still at the office. 😑As we come closer to the well-deserved days off, we've got some special things for you to check out, New Yorkers.
The weather forecast has been rain, rain, and...rain 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️️? Dance in (or out) of the rain with our Weekend Guide!
Thrift shopping is the way to go; our Thrift Shop Guide will hook you up with the best places to go thriftin'!
But what tunes will you listen to you as you walk through that rain? How about you look at our ranked New York City song list? 😎🌃🎧
Now it sounds like you might need a drink after walking through that rain...or just muggy heat in general. 🍻But, watch what you do in front of your bartender - they're not only there to make drinks: they're the Nightlife Lifeguards🍻
Alright, now that you're done drinking, or perhaps you're just trying to get a ride, you should really know one thing - Uber will be installing little vending machine devices into your ride! 😱
You must be hungry now after a long day like this. Who wants free food 🆓🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️? We do! So we'll join you at these places that offer free food soon!
Weekend Guide
What are your weekend plans? What are our weekend plans? Well, let's figure out this small predicament we all have! Check out our July 27 Weekend guide!
From movies to drinks, outdoor events to...more drinks - bring on the creative events that are in store for everyone during these three days!
I Wear Your Granddad's Clothes, I Look Incredible
$50 for a t-shirt? What? Who needs that when there are multiple places where you can buy clothes for much cheaper prices?
Listen to Macklemore 'cause he's got the right idea! Thrift shops can surprise you with their sale items. Who knows - you can buy an expensive-looking jacket for the price of a small coin purse?
Check out this guide on where to shop till you drop in Nw York...and avoid paying ridiculous prices.
You'll be shopping, not dropping out your entire paycheck.
These Streets Will Make You Feel Brand New
What's so great about New York?
We have some songs honoring our beautiful city, ranked by Ms. Audrey Lee.
From Sinatra's New York to Alicia's Empire State of Mind, see where your favorite city track landed.
Party Lifeguards
You gotta admit it- bartenders don't just make drinks and stand there. And they're not just a friendly face either, believe it or not.
The guys and girls become a customer's advisor, janitor, jokester, and bouncer all in one minute. Of course, this may seem temporary, but jumping from customer to customer, a bartender is expected to keep these roles going throughout the night, as another one bites the dust and passes out from all the drinks and another lost soul comes in need of advice.
No wonder why they should be tipped - they have several jobs! To all our lovely and strong bartenders out there, we thank you for your service of drinks, conversation, and even protection.
How does a bartender protect someone? Take a look here; you might be surprised at how crazy a bartender's night can get.
Vend and Ride
Say what?! Vending machines? Uber's bringing out a gift for us busy New Yorkers, with their "mini vending boxes!" Progressing towards being in rideshares across this entire city, these boxes will offer simple snacks, such as protein bars and bags of chips.
Los Angeles and San Francisco apparently got these first, but don't get too worked up yet - Uber certainly didn't forget about us over here on the east coast!
Get Up, Get Out, and Crawl
This Saturday, come out and explore Brooklyn as The Cultural Crawl comes here. Enjoy live performances, DJ sets, and catch the unveiling of a new mural by Raisin Brand.
In addition to the entertainment at the host venue, guests get access to food + drink specials at 10 venues in the neighborhood.
Use code CLP25 for a discount.
Freebies
You don't want free food? Alright, you're joking, we know. 'Cause we definitely could go for some free food on one of these hot and muggy summer days in New York!
With the apparent approach of National Ice Cream Month - seriously, whoever invented days or months like this is a GENIUS - you will now have the chance to get some free ice cream and other foods all around New York, in certain places.
If you know you'll be at JFK or at a food truck soon, you might want to read up on where to get your free scoop of ice cream below.
It just goes to show - you can be rewarded with free stuff anywhere in this wacky city!

Greetings New York,
No library card, no problem! If you don’t have a library card and feel like you’re missing out on the Public Library’s recently announced cultural initiative, check out these museums that feature free or pay-what-you-want entry on certain days. No card required! 🙅‍♀️💳 🏛
Looking for that ice cream fix? Check out our latest ice cream roundup that’ll have you calm and cool for the rest of the summer. It's chill, no need to thank us. 🍨 🍦😋
If you like your food with a side of knowledge the Museum of Food and Drink’s new Bangladeshi food exhibit might be your calling. Learn about the role that the South Asian cuisine has played in the city’s food scene and enjoy some authentic eats. Yum! 😋🍴🥘
Feigning for some good ol' BBQ? Look no further than Donnell Rogers' own front yard in Crown Heights. Visit Mr. Rogers on Saturdays where he's cooking up seriously good eats from his makeshift "Smack Grill." 🍗 🍖 🍽
Kids these days! Hear what these kids had to say about some of the new parks that have been popping up around the city. Disclaimer: they don’t sugar-coat it! 🤸‍♀️🛴🤔
What if God was just one of us? Read this short story depicting God like you’ve probably never considered before (spoiler: he waits for the never-coming L train like the rest of us). 🌏 💫💞
If you’ve always wanted to learn to make pizza join us at Keste’s (Fulton St) for Make Pizza Drink Wine, where you’ll be able to say ‘seeya’ to Domino’s once and for all. 🍕🍴😋
Join Spoiled’s founders for a talk on all the tools and workflows that have helped the company grow and glow.🗂💻📈
Peace out NY and remember to stay cool (and dry). 😎🚕✨

No Card, No Problem
If you rushed to get a library card after the New York Public Library announced its new Culture Pass program,  a limited number of passes per day for each attraction (some are now even booked up until September!) may mean you're out of luck.

However, fret not!

We’ve found you the best museums and cultural exhibits that you can visit at certain times for free or for a pay-what-you-can fee.

In case you didn’t know, entry to the New York Botanical Garden is free on Wednesdays and the MOMA is free from 4-8 PM on Fridays, save that $$$!
Make Pizza, Eat Pizza, Drink Wine
Few things taste as good after a long day than a mouth-watering slice of pizza and a well-deserved glass of wine.
But instead of ordering a pie or succumbing to the sinful temptation of *gasp* Domino’s, why not make it yourself with some help from world-renowned, father-daughter pizzaiolos Roberto and Giorgia Caporuscio at Kesté’s Fulton Street location this Thursday, July 26th, from 7 to 10 PM?
Tickets start at just $65 for groups of four and include complimentary red and white wine for the entire night!
Ice, Ice (Cream), Baby
No need to scream, play it cool and check out these beyond dreamy ice cream spots for frozen treats with flavor.

Personally, you’ll catch us at Amorino with their seasonal lime basil sorbet or crunching on a salty pimp from the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.

Whether you’re a cone or cup kind of ice cream lover, it’s chill either way.
A Taste of Bagladesh
Head to the Museum of Food and Drink in Williamsburg to experience Bangladeshi food like you’ve never experienced it before. For the next three weekends, the museum will be featuring a tribute to New York’s Bangladeshi community through cuisine as well as a documentary and an art installation.

The documentary focuses on the role that food has played in the journey of New York’s South Asian migrants.

A walk-n diorama will also be featured and include restaurant objects from real Bangladeshi migrant communities. After you enjoy the sights, sit down in the museum’s 10-person dining room, decked out in Bangladeshi décor, and enjoy traditional recipes donated by authentic chefs and home cooks.

Get your tickets while you can!
Get Sh*t Done
Entrepreneurs, artists and any knowledge worker in between are all trying to do more with less time. But in 2018, it’s easier than ever to find ways to get ahead.
Join us for a summer Friday afternoon and hear from spoiled NYC founders speak about all the tools and workflows that helped build a community and company from the ground up.
Home Cooking
Would you buy homemade BBQ from someone off of their front lawn?

It might sound unconventional but that’s exactly what Donnell Rogers is doing from his Crown Heights home, located at the corner of Albany Avenue and Pacific Street and people are LOVING it.

With a cardboard sign that reads “Smack Grill,” Rogers and his very reasonably priced eats are bringing a taste of North Carolina to the city.

If you find yourself in the area on a Saturday (the only day Donnell sells his BBQ), give the Smack Grill a visit!
Kid's Choice
The kids are alright! If you’re looking for the most kid-friendly parks to explore with your tiny tikes, see what these real NYC kids had to say about their favorite outdoor spaces to play in.

The youngsters both ranked Governors Island high on their list of favorite parks, as well as Pier 3 and Domino Park receiving good marks as well.

The biggest criticism the kids gave? Having play spaces that suit kids of all ages!
Spoiled Shorts
What’s your perception of God?

For Simon Rich, He might just be another aspiring yuppie, trying to balance work and romance in the big city.

Read Simon’s short story on how he envisions the Big Guy in the sky in a much more relatable light than anything you’ll find the Bible.
Beach Day
Did you catch our Skedaddle to Long Beach this weekend on Instagram? spoiled Creators Daniel True and Amy Sanchez soaked up the sun on the shore and walked us through the perfect beach day.

Thinking of heading out yourself? Check out this guide for planning the best day in Long Beach.

Pro tip: Takes the headache out of beach days, skedaddle offers roundtrip travel from midtown to Long Beach (hello clear water!)  for only $10 dollars, the only catch, this weekend is the last time you can catch this deal.

Enjoy ac and a nap all the way home after a day of fun in the sun

Now Trending
We’ve got the scoop on what foods to eat, clothes to wear, and tunes to listen to.

Anything but Sushi
If sushi’s not your itch then we’ve got you covered, check out our list of non-sushi serving Japanese restaurants that are cookin’ up the cuisine in new and interesting ways.
We recommend the yakitori from Takitori Taisho, Chicken of Sharaku from Sharaku or gyoza from Sakura 6.
Grab your yūjin and pour some sake out for us. Kanpai!
Mazel Tov!
When it comes to pastries we ain’t no challah back girl, and you shouldn’t be either!
Whether your sweet tooth is craving a delectably dense chocolate babka from Breads or you’re feigning for a savory knish from Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery, check out these spots that are bound to fulfill all your Jewish baked good dreams.

Catch us lining up for hamentashen cookies at Moishe’s that come in a variety of fillings including poppy seed, apricot, prune, raspberry and chocolate. Yum!
NYC & Chill
If your family/friends are hitting you up for a tour of New York City and you need to at least make it seem like you don’t stay in your apartment binging Netflix all day — this one goes out to you.
Check out this comprehensive list of eats, views, and sounds (that excludes the tourist traps) that’ll ensure your party has the best trip to the big apple ever!
Bring your television aficionado aunt and uncle to a live TV show taping at Rockefeller Center or your hipster/aspiring rapper cousin to a hip-hop inspired hot yoga class at Y7.
Afterward, bring your foodie sibling to a bagel crawl around the city and your American Idol obsessed mom to karaoke in K-town.
Consider the trip saved!
Thirsty Thursday, Anyone?
Don’t know the first thing about making pizza? Neither do we, so why not come and learn from two of the most world-renowned pizzaioli in the world, Roberto and Giorgia Caporuscio?
Roberto's accolades include being named New York Magazine’s “#1 Pizza in New York,” as well as Food Network Magazine’s “Best Pizza” in New York State. Roberto’s daughter and protégé, Giorgia, is the youngest of only two women to ever win first place in the “Classic Pizza” category of Naples’ largest and most prestigious pizza competition.
A few tickets still remain, so see you tomorrow night!
Girl Power
Central Park recently unveiled plans to install the first statue depicting a historical female onto the grounds, and all we can say is THANK GOD (Ariana Grande says God is a woman after all).
The statue will honor female rights movement pioneers Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony and will be installed in 2020.
There are currently only FIVE statues of historically significant women in all of New York, while there are approximately 145 statues of men, 25 of which stand in Central Park.
C’mon guys.
Cool Shorts
This isn’t your typical boy meets girl story and definitely isn’t as romantic as you might think.
When 20-year old college freshman Margot first meets Robert at her movie theater job, she finds him enticing in an understated way.
As they become closer through text flirtations she goes through an array of emotions in this 21st century take on dating in NYC.
