Join us for the PEN Ackerley Prize 2018 with Richard Beard, Maggie O’Farrell & Victoria Whitworth Tuesday 10 July 2018, 7pm - 8:15pm Richard Beard, Maggie O'Farrell and Victoria Whitworth Dear Karen, We are delighted to confirm that all three authors shortlisted for the PEN Ackerley Prize 2018 will be joining us for a special prize-giving event on Tuesday 10 July. The prize is awarded annually to a literary autobiography of excellence, and is the only UK prize soley dedicated to memoir. At our annual summer event, we will welcome Richard Beard (The Day That Went Missing, Harvill Secker), Maggie O’Farrell (I Am, I Am, I Am, Tinder Press) and Victoria Whitworth (Swimming with Seals, Head of Zeus) to the Free Word Centre in London. They will discuss their memoirs with chair of the PEN Ackerley Prize judges Peter Parker, before the winner of the 2018 prize is announced. We hope that you’ll be able to join us for this celebratory event to hear more about the work of these three great writers. Copies of the shortlisted books will be available to purchase on the night.
