WEA classes
After Easter I will be running two regular classes.
- My
normal Thursday morning Creative Writing class will start again on
Thursday 26th April. This class which runs from 10am - 12noon at Hebden
Bridge Town Hall, is open to anyone. We mostly look at fiction, but
also sometimes memoir and creative non-fiction.
- I
will also be starting an evening Writing Group. This starts on
Monday 23 April, 7.30-9.30pm at Hebden Bridge Town Hall. It's not so much
a class, as a group for sharing writing, getting feedback and support from
each other - though there will be writing exercises each week too.
If you want to book onto either of these
classes, they are now online and it is possible to enrol. If you are in receipt
of means tested benefits they are free.

Also, I will be running a Creative Writing Summer School with Sally Baker on Saturday 14th July. There will be workshops in the morning and afternoon, poetry and prose, and an opportunity to meet other writers as well as to book a slot at a reading in the afternoon. More information about this will be available in due course, but if you are interested please save the date.
Writing Retreat - Writing Fearlessly
Alison Taft and I are running a tutored writing retreat at Wentworth Castle from 23- 27 July.
The course includes
morning workshops, one to one tutorials, focus groups and writing time. Writers will be encouraged to share work with
each other. There will be guidance on how and where to submit your work and we
will be joined one evening by a guest author, bestselling author (and a former
student of Anna and Alison) - Louise Jensen.
Starting Monday evening with dinner, the course includes
full board and accommodation in single en-suite bedrooms. The course ends with
a celebration of the work produced on the Thursday night before checking out on
Friday morning.
There are still a few places left. The cost is £425 all
inclusive. Please let me or Alison (alistaft@aol.com) know if you would like to book a place. .
Mentoring
I've been doing some mentoring over the winter and it's been going really well. I have spaces to take on one or two more students. If you are interested please contact me. Here is a link to my website with more details.
