April Newsletter!

Spring is here and we are all go in the Freedom Studios office for our brand new production, When We Were Brothers, which opens in just over two weeks! We've also got some great news regarding the Norman Beaton Fellowship as well as a new Introduction to Playwriting course. Find out more below!



When We Were Brothers


Lads don’t cry. But what if you have to? When you feel like you’re going to explode. When everything’s closing in. And you don’t even know if you can stand it anymore. What then?

‘When We Were Brothers’ is a one-hour new play by Ben Tagoe about being a man, mental health, and friendship. With dates in Bolton and Bradford the play takes place in a bar, where you can sit and enjoy a drink while watching the show.

Tickets are Pay What You Feel at £4, £6, £12 – free house drink including in £12 ticket




Intro to Playwriting

Would you like to write a play but just don’t know where to begin? We are hosting an 8 week Course in Spring and we’d love to hear from anyone who would like to have a first go at playwriting.

NBF Award

We are delighted to announce that Jeanette Percival and Lewis Bray won the Norman Beaton Fellowship Award for 2018. Both Jeanette and Lewis came to the event via a workshop with us and will join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 21st July 2018. .
