1. Live at the Television Centre Festival
Don't miss this festival of food, music and special events popping up at the new Television Centre in White City. With 'test card menus' from Homeslice, Kricket and Patty & Bun, it's strongly advised you arrive hungry. 12-14 April

London is brimming with food markets to satisfy your every need, be it picking up quality groceries, snacking your way through town or sampling the best from local producers. A spring weekend is the perfect time to go exploring.

London Coffee Festival

Europe's largest gathering of coffee fans returns to the Old Truman Brewery for a weekend of demonstrations, talks, workshops and, of course, plenty of tastings. Perfect if you've got a latte on your mind...

RHS Flower Show Cardiff

Florist Jonathan Mosely heads to Cardiff this weekend to bring creativity to the Welsh capital. If you can't make it to his demonstrations, read his guide to this spring's floral trends – and then try them for yourself!

The Grand National

The biggest horse racing event of the year returns to Aintree this weekend. Can't make it down? Head to one of these pubs to watch it instead – and don't forget to place your bets on one of these horses (funny names a must)12-14 April
