Paradise @ Seven


Spring is in the air with warmth in the sun finally - almost paradise after a long, grey winter. 

On Thursday 19th March, 7.30pm, to celebrate Irish History Month - Sins of Ireland by filmmaker Alex fegan. Through the prism of the confession box, which has its origins in Ireland, the film is a portrait of an overlooked aspect of Ireland's past and how it impacted many parts of the world. Screen Seven in collaboration with Irish Arts FoundationSeven Venue. £8.

On Friday 20th  March, 7.30pm, Rise & Howl presents 'Bindweed' by Martha Loader. Bindweed is a shattering and darkly funny play about responsibility and rehabilitation, which looks at what can be done to tackle abuse at its root and asks whether accountability can ever truly lead to transformation. Seven Venue. £15.

Meanwhile in Seven Bar, Steppin’ In 2 Tomorrow, Friday 20th March, 7-11pm, a night of deep and soulful selections from across the universe taking in soul, disco, boogie, lovers rock and beyond. Free entry – everyone is welcome on the dance floor.

On Saturday  21st March, 4-6pm, in a stripped back version of the full band, Spring Sessions – Jon Palmer Trio. Same positive attitude, and the same compelling mix of uplifting and original folk, roots, and rock ‘n’ roll. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel. Organised by Mewl Music.

South Asian Arts UK – Prattyush Bannerjee & Shahbaz Hussain perform also on Saturday 21st March, 7pm. Pandit Prattyush Banerjee, celebrated for his artistry and innovations in sarod performance and design, brings a rare blend of tradition and modern vision to the stage. Seven Venue. Standard £15 | Concessionary £9 | Under 30s £7 | SAA-uk Family £5.

On Sunday 22nd March, 1.30-4pm, JazzLeeds – The Paradise Trio. The Trio, Richard Iles, Mike Walker and Les Chisnall, have played together for 25 years. As individuals, they are masterful players, as a trio, their musical chemistry and understanding of each other’s playing takes things to a whole new level. £12 /£10 conc in advance  /£12 on the door. Doors 1pm.

 And of course, at 7.30pm, also on Sunday 15th March, the Seven Quiz. This and every Sunday, test your knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to unwind with friends and family. Seven Bar. £5 per team. With prizes.
