Fakespeare @ Seven


A new month and a brand new array of events at Seven. Tomorrow, Wednesday 4th March, 6-7.15pm, settle in for Rush Hour Jazz - John Settle, a musician who plays the vibraphone with remarkable fluency and swing. Tonight with a line-up of blues, latin, bop and ballads, plus a dip into the great American songbook. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel. Organised by JazzLeeds.

Also, Wednesday 4th  March, 7.30pmMurder Inc presents a fully improvised, comedy murder-mystery set at a Cinema! Don’t be late for the trailers, because this one is a VUE to kill. We’re going to need you to solve it, so come along with your sharpest suggestions and we’ll to our best to (lights, camera) ‘ACTION’ them. Seven Venue. £10.

On Thursday 5th March, 7.30pm, a true story of literary fraud and family deceit in the 18th century – comic, tragic and scarcely believable, Merely Players presents Fakespeare. Although the events of the play – the Great Shakespeare Fraud – happened in the 1790s, the characters are actually telling us the story in the present day. Seven Venue. £15.

Also on Thursday 5th March, 6-8pmJonny Flockton plays guitar. Best known for his work with Leeds based legend Mik Artistik, and acoustic roots band Colour Of Light, Jonny has carved a path on the guitar as an individual voice. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel donations.

Now it's March, we've started our Spring Sessions, beginning today Saturday 7th March, 4-6pm, with Three Troubadours, incredible singer songwriters, Dave Vermond, Nick Hall and Leo Brazil, sharing their music, their songs, their stories; and a stage. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel. Organised by MEWL Music.

Also on Saturday 7th March 7.30pm,  Mewl Music presents Hebble and Anestis Saraliotis, a night of rare and beautiful tunes played on Greek bouzouki, oud, cello, and bodhran. The band sweeps through a rich variety of folk traditions from Central & Eastern Europe, the Balkan peninsula, the Mediterranean and the British Isles. Seven Venue. Tickets £12.50 advance /£15 on the door. Doors 7pm.
 
And at 7.30pm on Sunday 8th March, the Seven Quiz. This and every Sunday, test your knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to unwind with friends and family. Seven Bar. £5 per team. With prizes.
