Your Weekend Sorted @ Seven


Just a quick reminder, as we become plunged into autumn darkness, we've some great entertainment on offer this weekend. Saturday 26th October, 4-6pm, Autumn Sessions – Paula Ryan. Paula is a compelling singer / songwriter, born and bred in Tipperary, whose powerful, insightful songs are inspired by the lyricism and musical passion of her Irish roots. Seven Bar. Pay What You Feel donations. Organised by Mewl Music.

Saturday 26th October, 7.30pm, every night is opening night for The Totally Improvised Musical, as these top improvisers compose brand-new comedy musicals from your title suggestions. Picking up rave reviews, you've never seen a musical like this. A crowd-pleasing night of live music, laughter and songs with no two shows the same. Seven Venue. £15.

And on Sunday 27th October, 7pm, Flamenco de Leeds - Samuel Moore. Get ready to be captivated by his mesmerizing music, the award winning flamenco guitarist having recently returned from performing solo at Carnegie Hall.  With his exceptional talent and mastery of flamenco, Samuel will transport you to the heart of Spain in this performance. Seven Venue £15.

Rounding off the weekend on Sunday 27th October, 7pm, Flamenco de Leeds - Samuel Moore. Get ready to be captivated by his mesmerizing music, the award winning flamenco guitarist having recently returned from performing solo at Carnegie Hall (New York). With his exceptional talent and mastery of flamenco, Samuel will transport you to the heart of Spain in this performance. Seven Venue £15.

No quiz this week, but the Seven Quiz returns on Sunday 3rd November 7.30pm. Seven Bar. £5 per team entry. With prizes.

Rounding off October, lots to look forward to next week, including, Anything Could Happen, Wednesday 30th October 11.30am and at 7.30pm on the same day, Silky & Friends and on Thursday 31st October 7.30pm, JazzLeeds - Emily Masser Quintet, presenting this 20-year-old jazz singer and saxophonist from Wigan.

Welcome to this week's film listings. Cancel that summoning circle, your Halloween prayers have been answered as our season of women in horror begins with some creepy cult classics which are sure to cast their spell on you.

Multi-award-winning actor Bill Ward, probably best known for his work on two of the country's leading soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, is headlining this year's panto as the giant's sidekick, Fleshcreep.

 

Starring alongside Bill are cast favourites Troy Harris as Muddles with Joe Standerline returning as Dame Trott and Brian Blessed as the voice of Giant Blunderbore.

 

With nothing but a handful of magic beans, Jack must find the courage to slay the evil giant in his quest to win the hand of the Princess and free his village of tyranny forever.

 

With Dame Dolly and Daisy the Cow, Silly Simon and King Crumble adding plenty of comedy chaos and calamities along the way, join our hero on the most magical adventure as he climbs the beanstalk to Cloud Land!
