Five things to do in London this week

Dear Reader,

Hopefully you’ve snagged an extra hour in bed as the clocks went back last night. Curiously this week, our site was deluged with hundreds of thousands of people searching for this – and I wondered why. Well, apparently the change will affect our skin (see here for why). For me, the chance to grab any more time in bed is a glorious gift, although it doesn’t mean I’m getting more sleep (boo). I’m one of the millions of us whose shut-eye is sometimes less than satisfactory. In fact, I’m starting to fantasise about a wellness break in Thailand – to disconnect, to recentre, to be surrounded by frangipani and bougainvillea and to stuff as much lemongrass into my system as possible. One to dream about perhaps.

Have a great week.

WHAT’S EXCITING ME THIS WEEK

All Hallow’s Eve

In the past few years, we’ve come over all American when it comes to Halloween: whole villages, houses, streets are given over to monstrous makeovers. But why do we celebrate it in the first place?

What’s On The Menu?

We’re a society driven by trends – and this week, we’re diving into food and what we can see on our plates in 2025. Expect food as medicine to take centre stage as we fight to combat our obesity problem (without, ideally, heading down the Ozempic route).

Improve Your WFH Productivity

I’m usually at my kitchen table; the lighting is bad and the fridge within reach. Luckily, Martha Davies has some ideas on how to level up your home workspace – I sure do need them.
