Our Feature
Screenplay Contest is for screenwriters looking
to gain representation with a manager or agent, sell their
screenplay, and get hired on writing assignments.
This contest has a
proven track record of helping emerging writers achieve their goals
of becoming full-time working screenwriters. Through our Feature
Screenplay contest, writers have gone on to write for Blumhouse, Netflix, Paramount, Film4, NBC, Hulu, &
many others.

We accept submissions from writers all over
the world.
Submitted
scripts must be in written English. Previous applicants
may apply, including Finalists from previous
years. Writing teams are welcome as well.
You can make as many submissions as you wish and we
offer discounts for multiple submissions. You can email us
at contact@shorescripts.com
if you wish to submit more than one script.

We are looking for stories that move us.
We accept all genres. Scripts should
ideally be within 80-120 pages. Writers can exceed the
recommended limits by up to 30 pages, with an additional fee of
$1 per page. Your script may be a combination of multiple
genres or sub-genres. If that’s the case, use the Genre
dropdown to indicate the main genre, and make a note of other
Genres in the
Comment to Reader field on the submission form.

You will
be directed to a submission form where you can upload your
script and enter details including multiple writer details if
appropriate. Once your script has been submitted, it will be
logged into our system so we can begin the reading process. You
will also receive an email confirming receipt of your script
and giving you the code for your 70% Resubmission Discount.

Every writer gets to see their contest score and
you may choose to receive a feedback report on
your submission for an additional fee.
Our
readers have read for some of the most successful production
companies in the world; including Universal, Working Title,
Lionsgate, BBC, Creative Europe Media, Wildgaze, and others. If
you have added feedback to your contest submission, this will
usually take between 7-10 days to complete. This timeline can
vary slightly depending on how busy we are.

We
support the ongoing WGA strike and emerging
screenwriters. Most screenplay contests, if they send
your work out at all, will most likely send out a mass email of
all projects, without any context. We are different.
- We have reviewed our industry roster with the WGA
Signatories Dept., and we will not circulate scripts or
arrange meetings with struck companies for the period of the
strike.
- We never circulate a script without first asking for
permission from the writer(s).
- If the WGA strike is not over by the time we
announce our Winners & Finalists, we will delay script
circulation to our industry roster until a deal is in place
so you won’t miss out on the opportunity to have your work
read by the people and companies that can greenlight your
script.
- By working individually with our alumni, we ensure
that any and all opportunities arising from their placement
are realized at the best possible time for them.
For the latest
information on the strike - go to https://www.wga.org/
