Ilkley Library  Fridays 4.15pm - 6.15pm starts 22nd September

Keighley Library  Tuesdays 5.30pm - 7.30pm starts 19th September

Our new set of Creative Writing Courses will be starting in September.

These popular courses offer you the opportunity to learn about different writing styles and genre. You will share your own writing with the tutor and group whilst receiving constructive feedback.

You will also have the chance to explore publishing opportunities. Past course attendees have gone on to have their work published and some have taken part in spoken word events. Beginners and long-term writers welcome.

£60 per 10 week course. Pay ​at the first session. All welcome over 18

New Reading Groups

Poetry reading group*New *Poetry Reading Group. Keighley Library

Starts Tuesday 12th September 6pm

Every second Tuesday of the month thereafter.

Meet other local poets and people who who love poetry, to share poems and your thoughts and ideas. All welcome.

New Reading Round Group

Join your new local Reading Round Group in City Library.

Join your new local Reading Round Group, led by Trish Cooke - author and playwright.

A book club with a difference. There is no homework, no prep. Every week a short story and poem is read to you . All that is required of participants is a willingness to listen, discuss and be open to new ideas.

Fridays 11.30am to 1pm. From 1st September 2023 to 24th May 2023.

City Library, Centenary Square, BD1.

Monday 4th September between 2 and 4pm in Ilkley Library and the first Monday of the month thereafter.

Come along and share your crafts, please feel free to bring anything you're working on, meet new people and browse the library's collection of art & craft books. Refreshments served. Free of charge.

Walking the invisible: Following in the Brontes' footsteps with Michael Stewart

Join us for an evening with award-winning Michael Stewart, author of Walking the Invisible, Following in the Brontës' Footsteps. Michael is the creator of the Brontë Stones project, four monumental stones situated in the landscape between the birthplace and the parsonage, inscribed with poems by Kate Bush, Carol Ann Duffy, Jeannette Winterson and Jackie Kay, which he delivered in collaboration with the Bradford Literature Festival.

Ready, Set, Read

Libby is now available to download from the Amazon Appstore. Going forward, users with Amazon Fire tablets should download Libby directly from the Amazon Appstore instead of manually sideloading the app.

OverDrive app reading history in Libby
We will soon make users’ borrowing history from the OverDrive app and your library’s OverDrive website available on their Timeline in Libby. This update will take place over the next several days and will allow users to keep track of all titles they previously borrowed from your digital collection in one place. Learn more on Libby Help.

Support for additional languages
Libby now supports these additional languages: Korean, Malay, Tamil, Danish, Icelandic, and British English. Review Libby Help for a full list of supported languages and steps to change your language in the app. While this update does not affect the languages of the content in your collection, you can find ebooks and audiobooks in over 100 languages in OverDrive Marketplace.
