A Fête Worse Than Death @ Seven

In this Bank Holiday week celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, there's more than a touch of festival about Seven. Chosen for Jubilee weekend, we have Pop-Up - Oula Kitchen, with sassy food and bakes, in short, food fit for a Queen….vegan, veggie and meat options. Thursday 2nd June, 5pm to Sunday 5th June, midday – 8pm.

On Friday 3rd June, written and directed by Sam Milnes, brand new one-act play ‘Victor, Vi and the Volvo’. When Vic drives into Vi’s life in his dodgy Volvo, life changes forever. And with the arrival of their son Callum, there’s never a dull moment. But events take a dark turn with Sid’s looming presence in Callum’s life… 2 shows at 3pm and 8pm. £9.

Unique song-craft, spell-binding musicianship and crystal sonic clarity from Katie Spencer on Saturday 4th June, 7.30pm, Mewl Music – Katie Spencer w/ support from Chris Brain. Her highly anticipated new album, The Edge of the Land (2022) is delicate and un-rushed, the ten songs drift by like ships on the horizon, yet intimacy and introspection remain. £12.50 advance / £15 on the door.

On Sunday 5th June,1:30 pm, Gone Country, a five-piece band to enjoy, with beautiful harmonies from Louise Starks and Laura Morris, the twang of electric and acoustic guitar from Adam Wolstenholme, drums from Scott Wolstenholme and Tom Brown on bass. Seven's Courtyard (inside if wet); PWYF.

For the royalists out there or simply if you love archive film, on Sunday 5th June, 5.30pm, The Yorkshire and North East Film Archives have curated a new film, The Queen'sPlatinum Jubilee, 'Seen to be Believed'. This is an affectionate look at how the people of Yorkshire and the North East celebrated coronations, jubilees and royal visits through the decades. Running time 55 mins. £5

Also, on Sunday 24th April, 7pm, don't forget the Sunday Quiz, a great way to exercise those little grey cells and end the weekend with friends and family. £5 per team, with prizes.

We  look forward to seeing you at Seven very soon. Every £ spent at Seven helps support high quality arts in a local setting.

Elle Woods appears to have it all, but when her boyfriend, Warner, breaks up with her to pursue something more “serious”, it’s time for Elle to fight for what she wants, even if that means going all the way to Harvard Law School.

Can Elle win back Warner, make it through Law School, gain the respect of her peers and professors, and realise her true potential with the support of her new friends?

Join the award-winning LIDOS in this upbeat, comical musical journey as we find out whether Elle can prove to herself and everyone else that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

This show is produced by LIDOS, a Leeds Community Arts Network group.
